I took the time to do a little more exploring in my soon to be neighborhood today. I had to drive by the property at least once. I should have been up at Giggle Ridge helping to get everything ready for tomorrow's opening, but I was hungry.
I remembered John's advice to try the deli in Yarrow. Turns out it's only three properties west of us. I feel pounds coming on. Maybe if I run both ways to and from the store from our place I can work it off...
When I walked in the kind lady behind the counter(who I had never met) recognized me by my Giggle Ridge blue denim shirt with the big logo stitched on it. She welcomed me to the neighborhood. She knew we were purchasing the house and land up the street. Small towns are like that.
I strolled through the small deli with great delight.. recognising many items there. It was a trip back into time... fresh Mennonite Farmer sausage, cottage cheese dumplings, home made egg noodles for making home made chicken soup, delicious looking potatoe salad, & cole slaw, just like my mom used to make. And scores of other items that I remembered from days long gone by.
And fresh home made fruit platz, squares, & cookies... so much GOOD Mennonite food I so fondly remember from my childhood.
I used my strongest willpower & took it easy with my first order. A freshly made honeyed ham sandwich on cracked wheat bread... garnished with lettuce & tomato, light on the mustard & mayo, and a wonderful square of rhubarb platz for dessert. And of course an ice cold Coca Cola to go.
I paid my tab & as she worked up my sandwhich I popped back out to my truck to get her & her staff a handful of free passes to Giggle Ridge. I hope they enjoy golfing there as much as I enjoyed the sandwich...
I think living in Yarrow is going to really agree with me...

Food(the real Stuff,) it's just up there with good brushes, Great Design, Puppies, yeah, thats the idea!!
If I may Preach to the World.... eat S L O W L E Y... you'll think you have more food than you have... you'll taste more, have more time to read that book, SignCraft, etc, as you eat, and you'll feel full sooner, BEFORE YOU DIG INTO SECONDS, Which you don't need!!!
As a friend of ours used to say...."wouldn't it be great if we had taste buds ALL THE WAY DOWN OUR THROATS" Oh Yeah, Let the Food Party Begin!!!!
Yarrow, time for some tea!

Passed right by there last weekend coming back from a firefighter spring training in Kamloops. Almost turned off at Yarrow. I would always stop off and grab a bag lunch from there when I was going fishing up the Veddar/Chilliwack, a good Ukrainian never forgets where the best food is! If I wasnt running to the ferry, I would have liked to stop in at Giggle Ridge too, maybe more time next trip.
Donna, are you still doing the graphics for HUB? They had two new fire trucks to show off in Kamloops, but I didnt see your bug on them. Sure wish they would budget for some real gold on them, nothing looks better than gold on a firetruck, but I bet its a safety/visibility issue as to why reflective is used instead.
Kinda hurts to peddle hard after a BIG meal dont it John!

Affirmative Tim. I do their trucks. My current labelling has the wrong phone number attached. I nearly added it minus the phone anyway, but I was running late on all their jobs that week and didn't want to spend one more minute fiddling.
Nice straight lines though huh? Good kerning in the boring plain lettering, didja notice?

They were showing off the Mini-Pumper for Lasqueti Island, and the Freightliner pumper for Wapole Island. Wapole had a graphic, sorta looked like a kayak on water. Never heard of that place, maybe in the Queen Charlottes?
