I'm working with a client's artwork. They have sent me .eps files in the past, both on disc and via email. I've never had any trouble importing their .eps files into CorelDRAW 9.0

This year, when I try to import them, Corel goes through the importing process (the percentage goes up to 100%, then the mouse icon changes to show I can place the image), but when I click and drag the image to size - there is no graphic at all! It is just empty space?! I even try selecting all objects to see if it happens to be all white or something, but nothing!

Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be??

Thanks.

Corel draw comes with 2 different filters for importing .eps files, one for encapulated postscript and one for postscript interpreted, try them both.

Mike,

In the Global settings, it shows as all of the filters being active, including both .eps filters.

Is there something else I should be looking for?

Specifically chose which filter in the import dialogue box.

Mike, my friend, I OWE YOU A COLD ONE!!

That worked like a charm. And I learned something new. I always thought that "files of type" just showed you what files with that extension were in that folder, I never realized that it would import them differently.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOU QUICK HELP!

Randy

Same here. Thanks, Mike for solving this problem, that I've had for some time, and thanks Randy, for asking the question.

Hey Mike, since you're so smart, do you know of a way to open an .eps file that was output from a Mac (for a Mac)? In Corel I mean. And this is not a quiz, I really don't know. I got a couple days behind this week waiting for a graphic to be resent because of this. Damn Mac people think everyone can read their stuff.
