Plagued with Windows XP automatic updates every single day? I use to get them occasionally but lately I'm getting them every day now. Seems that the software must be in pretty bad shape to need that many fixes?

How about everyone else?

I had the everyday plague already & now I'm on the "once in a while" plan. Not sure what I did right...
but it could have been selecting the "Fvck-Off" option so often, instead of allowing the update everytime. [Smile]

Hey, could be worse. I turned on my computer today and it wouldn't work worth a S***. I finally got in safe mode and ran Norton. Had 196 infected files (mostly system files).

I haven't gotten anything in the mail or downloaded anything in who knows how long!

Never could get Outlook Express to work again. Switched to Outlook!!

Yippee! Gotta love these frickin' computers!

I do not let XP update anything on its own. God knows what they are up to. I make sure I have a good backup before I update anything significant. Believe me, I have learned the hard way. Tomorrow you may need to replace everything not on their approved hardware list.

Get Windows2003 Server, kicks XP's butt all over the place, even though it still is a mickeysnot program.. [Smile]

Man I tell ya, if all my design programs were available for MAC, I'd be jumpin ship... but they arent so I just gotta swim with the sharks til they catch up. [Smile]

Lorna,
There's Illustrator and Photoshop. What else do you need? Whenever someone's trying to move a file between "sign" programs what format do they save it in? Illustrator!

I drive my Graphtec straight of out Illustrator with Graphtec's own plug-in and I print and cut on the Edge and GSxPlus with MacImprint.

There's MS Office for all that stuff. The only thing I find absent are the estimating programs if you think you need them. ....and there's always VirtualPC if you really have to go there.

Sorry folks, just havin' a little fun and I couldn't resist. I was weened on a Mac in the design world and it's a little hard to switch. I also have a PC, but it's just a lot more comfortable and user-friendly on a Mac for me. Besides, all my programs are for Mac.

As far as designing goes, I design all my files in AI or PS and cut through Magi-sign on a Summa T-750. It seems that I can create just about anything I need for my customers without the big dollar programs

One Mouse button.... How wierd is that.

3 mouse buttons saves so much menu searching.

Anyhow.... did you check to see if the update your getting everyday is the same one? it probably is... I had one do that a while ago. it didn't install properly, and it would try every day.... untill One day it stopped trying....dont know why... but all my other updates worked just fine..

closing statment. XP is the most stable thing out there.. it really is.
and i dont like mac's because i'm to used to PC's....and i think that mac stopped evolving a while ago.. they are not user friendly at all... you cant drag and drop between programs... and there isnt even 2 mouse buttons... Man right clicking is like a god send... My girl friend has a mac... and... it's been in the shop for analog boards a couple of times now..
people get mac's because they want to be different, or are brainwashed that they are user friendly (they used to be before windows 98).... Not because they are better... just like Harleys, and Saturns [Smile]
