ugh.... OK listen to this. About 2 weeks ago I did this 6x3 PVC sign. (I think I posted something about it) Anyway, they told me that it would be installed on a concrete wall. Well, guess what? IT AINT no %$#@! concrete. its sheet rock. What do I do? can I still go ahead & install it with the bolts & silicone? I'm real worried now. Thanks in advance...

Not regular bolts, but toggle bolts will do it.

What we do in this situation is to find or buy the plastic pads that someone like gemini sells for placement on the back of preformed letters or trim cap letters,...Silicone them on the back of the pvc and stud mount them onto the wall....

I use a combination stud/pad (with the stud going through the pad) and on a 1/2" thick piece of PVC allow the stud to thread into the pvc about 5/16". Then apply silicone around the pad as it screws onto the stud and against the back of the PVC, and also against the wall. The studs should be tight into the wall to help hold the weight of the PVC panel. If the application allows it, I would prefer flush mounting (without the pads) to give more surface to apply silicone to, although this would make eventual removal of the sign impossible without tearing up the wall.
