Hi Lettervillians! We've just landed at a Super 8 here in Lexington. It was a long, and very rainy drive from our last stop in Atlanta. Saw several wrecks on the highway, including a semi that jack knifed and crossed the median ending up in the ditch. Nobody was hurt. If that driver never had religion, he surely does now.

We had a really nice visit with Sonny and Peg Franks in Atlanta. They took us to see this giant piece of granite known as Stone Mountain. Where did THAT thing come from? On Sunday evening we ate at the Outback, where the Frank's striking daughter was our server. You did good Jess!

As many of you knopw, Lexington is the final resting spot for Mike Stevens. For years, I've wanted to visit my hero's gravesite. We're hoping to find John Cox of Thorough Graphic Signs tomorrow and seek out directions.

We have a big decision to make here in Lexington. Our original plans were to show up at this weekend's Mass Mayham. It was going to be a surprise, but I'm not feeling so well. The shortness of breath is back, and the simplest tasks leave me exhausted. The last thing I need is a fifth heart attack.

We really wanted to attend this meet again this year. Lots of old pals are gonna be there, along with a few newbies like that wacky Karyn Bush gal. It would be worth the detour just to meet her. [Smile]

Right now we both need a good night's sleep. Thanks to all of you who opened your hearts and homes to us on this trip. We'll let you know about Mass Mayhem.

You're awful close Mr. Mayor. Sure would be nice to see that ol camping car parked in the front yard again. Just want to be sure you know you are more than welcome to stay if you make it over this way before headin home. This is a pretty good place to kick back and give the ol ticker a rest ya know.

The door is open, the beds are waiting for you!
Sorry, no canned chinese food this time. We plan to drive out to Mass Mayhem Friday morning and return Sunday after noon. Hope you'll be feeling well enough to teach me some hand lettering.

Steve,

I firmly believe you're suffering from GNS
..( Goin' North Syndrome ).. It hit you last year as well..

Only known cure is to head back South...

All kidding aside, .. You take care.. don't push it.

Get some rest! You need to take care of yourselves! Hope you can do the trip to Mass. but you should also take a break and make sure you aren't doing it at too big of a cost. We don't want you to hurt yourself!
