I wear Amber oil that I get at Body Time up in San Francisco - it's got a subtle baby powder-type scent.I have people look at me all the time and say - Wow! You smell good!
It's reminiscent of Shalimar which I believe contains Amber oil.
My husband Clay won't wear any type of scent except for the occasional dab of Maker's Mark bourbon behind his ear. Scents interfere with his sense of smell & taste - very important for a chef!

Steve, out west, you've got those beautifully sculpted quarter horses, and raise cattle. Here in East Tennessee, tradition is mules and pigs! The worst your barn would smell like is "processed" grass. Hogs aint so kind on the nose. Of course, if I paint a large peice of equipment, I smell like acrylic enamel for a couple days. Then there's coal smoke from blacksmithing, hickory smoke from making jerky, and used motor oil from installing the new camshaft and lifters. Maybe I could market a package of little bottles called "Ze redneck odour d' jour". Jim D.

Jessica McClintock and anything with Sandalwood. When I was in Fiji I bought a talcum powder with Sandalwood perfume in it, I just loved it and wish I could find something like that here. Day-to-day backup is eau de Rapid Tac!

Hey OP! Where did THIS topic come from?! .......My fav is "Cool Water Woman" for the occasional night out. "Imitation Giorgio" or Calgon's "Morning Glory" body mist , which I keep by the gallon in the truck for those impromptu customer calls, since it really mixes well with "Essence of Enamel". My oldest daughter ALWAYS complains that I wear TOO MUCH perfume, but I just keep sprayin' 'til I can't smell mineral spirits anymore.

OP, Is this subject your way of sending some secret code to Chris Elliott about how much you enjoyed your stay with him last weekend? It must have been your cologne that made Chris so eager to split a room with you.

Are you guys serious about 4711? I grew up with the smell of that stuff. I think of it as mostly alcohol with an attitude. My Dad bought it in what seemed like vats and poured it on a big man’s handkerchief and tied that around his aching head when he had a migraine. If I had known that it was available in the United States, I might have chosen another country to escape to.
All joking aside, I have a small bottle of it, stashed away. Often when I give a gift to a sibling, (if I don’t forget) I put a little of siebenundvierzigelf (the German name for it) on the wrapping paper. Just to remind them of the family ties to this smell
So, to answer your question, Joe, I spray Opium into the air and walk through the mist (if I don’t forget which is most of the time).

4711 is a german cologne, not really a perfume. Very light, and can be worn by both men and women. I had found it very non-obtrusive, and not at all heavy or sweet. (Has a nice bottle and label too! ) I'm not into the musky sweety stuff at all.
Haven't used it in ages, but I used to wear it, and I liked it.
Incidentally, when I smell something nice on someone, I'll ask, ... though, stuff will smell different on everyone.
One of the things I tend to like on others are "white linen".
