YES! The way I do it: I use my software to apply a "transparent" effect to my graphic. I print onto clear 2 mil vinyl, then apply the vinyl to the 3M.

Just saw a Roland PC600 printing from SignLab ver.6 at the Mass Sign Assoc. Sign Show. It was printing beautifully in process color; banding was no problem as far as I could see.
According to the rep from New England Sign Supply who was running the demo, the new SignLab has a thermal print module that can give much better print results than previously through the Roland rip. Also supposed to be able to do many more shading effects. If you're considering the machine, I'd call NESS and ask for a SignLab 6 Demo and further info on the PC600.

What kind of sample were they printing? I'd be curious as to whether it was a photograph that was basically dark. I remember the demo prints coming out of the pc60 at the shows....boy it look from far.....but when we got our machine, it was far from good

Thanks for the responses.I'm curious Bob why you print to clear then apply to the reflective? I have a specific job and need to make sure this machine will be able to do it.

I'm assuming that he's not able to print to whatever reflective material that he uses, but can print to the clear. Then he just transfer the clear to the reflective. I can't quite remember, but there was a reflective material that I was able to print to using the pc60. If I had to guess, I would say that Gerber 220i reflective would run through the pc60, since that is the material that works with the edge. I could be wrong but it's just an assumption. I don't know if any of the after market ribbon makers have transparent foils for the roland machines. That's the correct way to get good reflectivity. With the Edge, we just use the transparent foils on reflective white and it works great.
