For those attending the 2003 Letter Rip On Rt. 66 meet in Atlanta, Illinois we are arranging to have a pre-meet OPEN SHOP just 20 minutes North in Bloomington at the "Sign Shop That Really Rocks!...Draper the Signmaker.

Plans are being made to have this on THRUSDAY the 10th of JULY. The open house will be a way for those arriving early to the meet to have a place to hang out, unwind, and see the WILDEST SIGN SHOP IN THE MIDWEST! It will blow you away as we have designed it to look like a theme park. All the desks are covered in materials to look like rock, the floor is hand painted to look like field stone, and much much more.

We will be doing some demonstrations on Faux finishing, foam carving, and whatever else we can think of.

THIS IS FREE. THERE IS NO FEE TO PARTIEEEEE! [Smile]

This is what you need to remember:

Dave I know at least one other person besides myself who would like to attend the meet but can't find a motel anywhere close.

Any suggestions???

Otherwise Penny and I might drive up for one day just to visit.

Troy, go to www.letterrip.org and click on the "lodging" link. There are 17 motels, all within easy driving distance of the meet. All the information you need should be there. Hope to see ya' there.

Oooooops... forgot to tell you, Troy, I did get reservations finally. Seems some of the hotels are full, UNLESS you specify that you are coming for the meet.

We will not be there early enough for the "Open Shop", but should arrive mid-day Friday.

There will be PLENTY of places to sleep! If you have a problem, contact us! Go to www.letterrip.org and either check out the lodging section or go to the committee section and pick a person you know. There will also be "the budget plan" better know as cots in the gym if you want to bring your own pillows and blankets and towels. (We can use the showers in the grade school gym.) There is limited RV parking downtown on a first come/first serve basis and you can pitch a tent anywhere and a campground right outside of town. Hey, as nice as these towns people have been, you could probably get someone to put you up in their home. [Smile] Atlanta is being VERY helpful with all this! They want us to come and enjoy our stay.
