I have a customer that would like a printed decal of a 57 chevy grill for his pro stock dragster. Any help directing me to a company that may have done this in the past, or who could print one would be appreciated.

Call your neighbor in Chippewa Falls...Kurt Gaber..He has an Edge and he knows how to use it....You could take a photo of an actual 57 front end, and print it on vynull. I'd rather paint it, but if it has to be a sticker call Kurt...715-723-3437

Painting a grill is too easy. Tape off your area of the grill. Paint the entire area silver with a few streaks of powder blue and med silver. Use 3M blue fineline the size of the bars of the grill and mask off the grid of the grill. Then paint the area black. Untape and add the highlights.

I have painted several of these things, and it's a day's work, using base coats so that it can be clearcoated when done (a necessary step). If I were more savvy with this crazy computer, I would post a photo.
A few important considerations: 1. Yes, the grille is golden on the better models of '57 chevy. Note also, that there is a rather complex chrome grille assembly inside the basic grille.
2. I recommend that if you are going to paint it, that you take a photo of a real one and then make a pattern so that it looks right...too complex for most of us to draw correctly and in proper perspective.
3. Using a photo and edge pring may be the answer if you don't want to paint it, but be very careful with sizing. Many of the '57 replica bodies have a sloped and shortened nose for better aerodynamics. this will effect what can be done and you will need to size it to the actual car, not stock size.
Maybe I should do a step by step...
Good luck,
Bruce

I do have a photo of the stock 57 grill, and the dementions of the area in need of the graphic if I decide to go with a decal.
