Hiya Heads, This originally started back in November with this original post
If this was for a client and I charged time and materials, I'd be rich The finished project, ready to install
It's far from perfect and the photo doesn't really do it justice, but I'm pleased with the final results. It turned out to be more of an experiment and I learned a lot from it. Here's a few tips 1st - real brushes and 1 Shot paint makes life a lot easier. 2nd - Don't try to take short cuts. I can give a long list of mistakes I made by trying to cheap out. 3rd - Murphy's law kicks in when you least expect it 4th - Painting around cats is not good (see #3) 5th - Maintain a clean & safe working invironment

As ususal Deb, you're too kind with your words. Thanks for the complement and I hope you had a nice Easter too. Thanks Doug! I'm not gonna pay the bill until you finish painting the pole though. By the way, what's the going rate for a signmaker from Hawaii to do an install in Pennsylvania?!?!?

Thanks again for the positive comments. The material is 1" Signfoam that I had routered by another shop. It definitely was a fun & relaxing project that I did at my convenience at home. I plan on making another 6 or so for friends and family for Chrismas presents. But, at this rate, it will be for Christmas 2006 or so before I can deliver them I'm sure that once I get better equipped @ home, I can crank out quite a few a month without any stress. Just out of curiosity, what would you have charged for a retail client? I have a formula for what I would charge. But, that's from when I was back in New Jersey. I get the impresssion that I may be too expensive here in Pa.
Havin' fun,
Checkers
