Ahhhh! Another excuse to kick off work and spend some time in the house! Or at least that's what I do, every chance I get. I'm also off work Monday; interesting how I can become a govt employee or student at any given time!

Yesterday it stopped raining! Yeah!! Hubby is still sick, so I grabbed all the lawn machines he uses and has never shown me how to, and plunked them infront of his sick robed self and requested instruction as I was going to use them. I feel so liberated, I know it all now. [Smile]

Oh my gosh, this place is BIG. But I'm cleaning up in areas that I silently wondered why he never ventured into. Cool, now I can just do it myself anytime!

Today I will heal (I kinda over did it yesterday) and maybe tinker around outdoors with Cody and the dog. And if hubby feels good enough, will attempt to invite inlaws over so we can feast on pizza and watch cody go gah gah over his easter treats.

Will maybe tag my mom at some point and attempt to indulge in her infamous Paska (german sweet bread with icing on it), look for more treats and sip on fresh coffee.

At some point i have to put in about a 1/4 day's work, I need to have a firetruck kit done up for Tuesday morning. But I think I'll worry about that Monday night.

We don't do Easter feasts anymore it seems. When the inlaws and my mom stopped cooking, hmmm, seems we didn't eat quite the same anymore. In all honesty, although I miss the grand food spread, I actually enjoy a delivered quality pizza and nice dessert and just sit and enjoy each other rather than doing dishes for hours afterwards. I think I'll attempt a dinner Christmas.

What are you up to?

(please, let's keep this a relaxed post without finger pointing) [Smile] Rated: FEEL GOOD POST!

Hi, Donna! This is a REALLY special Easter this year. Tomorrow morning we all get our Easter Baskets, (Lat, Liz, Paul and me) and Mom will get a plastic egg, and inside will be a Diamond Pave ring, and Dad will go down on one knee and propose to her again! Super cool, no?
They've been married 30 years now and they'll have another ceremony this coming winter.
Barbeque steaks, maybe some motorcycle riding and walking in the woods.
This will be a really cool day for all of us here in Lost Prairie.

:^)

Working!

Easter is a biggie in the hotel industry. The place has been packed for the last couple of weeks between Spring Break and now Easter. Palm Springs also has a huge event called The White Party which brings over 30K people to town. That's this weekend too.

I'll be working until midnight tonight and then my husband (the chef) has to be there at 3:30am to get everything ready for the Easter Brunch tomorrow morning.

If all goes well, we'll have tomorrow night and Monday off together. I think I saw him on Wednesday night, I can't quite remember.

Today is our 6th wedding aniversary. We got up and took our daughter to our little towns Easter egg hunt. It looked like a scene from Steel Magnolias!!

Then my hubby went to help his dad fix the fence around his house so our dog doesn't escape while we go to the Sandcastle Panel Jam next weekend (at present he hasn't returned).

Nonny (Robert's mom) is here playing with my daughter on the computer, doing play-doh pizzas, etc.

Later we will catch up with my best friend since 2nd grade who now lives in South Carolina and is home for the weekend.

Tomorrow we are having late dinner at our house so we don't have to go anywhere! My parents and Robert's parents will be here.

That's about it I think! [Big Grin]

Tonight I am going home and NOT DO ANY SIGN WORK!
It's a hard thought to fathom (not working for a day) however I gotta house to clean for guests tomorrow. Friend and family and food. Here in Canada, my wife introduced me to hiding mini chocolate eggs around the house the night before (hell, it could be snowing outside and Easter would be ruined). Anyway, it's the one day of the year that the kids can wake up and just start macking the sweets! They are opening little gift bags filled with yet more treats and little stuffed animals.
Once friends show up with more treats for the kids, we start doin' the non-donominational Easter thing....drink and eat LOTS of beer, wine, ham and turkey etc.
When the Mother -n -law shows up with the 30 year old gay sister n law (she doesn't know shes gay yet) we (wife, friends and myself)individually sneak out for a toke or two. Hey you asked! We put the little ones to sleep at the end of the night, have another 'dube' and then EAT ALL THEIR TREATS!!!
Hope yours is GREAT!!!!!!

I'm painting egg shaped rocks I found while excavating the last 5% of the patio I've been prepping on & off for 3 months now.
The grandkids are coming this afternoon to paint the paper mache eggs I showed them how to make over balloons last weekend, so when I kept pulling rocks out of the excavation project & so many looked like little eggs, I got carried away with holiday spirit (that never happens to me)& decided to have an egg hunt with my rocks. Tempra paints are convenient drying so fast & cleaning up so easy, but now that I've invested some time in them, I hope some kind of clear spray will make them last beyond the weekend for future enjoyment or decoration.

I was just wishing last night that those "dilivered" & "quality" were not mutually exclusive with regard to pizzas around here.

Worked most of the day with Dave cleaning out my shop! Hey ... and it's ALMOST done!

Had a nice dinner and a relaxing night.

More cleaning for me today, along with a little bit of sign and web work to chip away at.
Short work week for us next week, gotta work this weekend so I can play later in the week!

Woodgraining on Thursday, and then on to the Sandcastle meet!

Happy Easter everyone!

My daughter and her boyfriend came over from Seattle.
I made a real Kosher meal(they are observing the Passover week) of seasoned matzo meal breaded chicken breasts served with an orange marmalade sauce, scalloped potatoes with fresh snipped thyme, big green salad and for dessert a wonderful fudge brownie (made with matzo flour) with fresh strawberry sauce and whipped cream (email me for the recipe) and champagne to wash it all down!

A:)

Easter Day 2003 will be one to remember for us!

I got up with a severe headache, the kind that knock you over. After 3 naps that didn't help, I resorted to just dealing with it. But oh my, I had promised Cody to take him to Grandma's in the PM, 45 min drive. Sigh... I took him. He fell asleep on the way and waking up once we got there didn't jive well with him. He screamed for about an hour until he realized it was time to have fun. Alrighty then!

On the way home, my truck coughs and sputters. OMG... I couldn't get ahold of hubby as he was on the internet (grrrr) so I had to call a neighbour to chase him down. We made it but barely, and as we nearly got home Cody started screaming screaming screaming that his ear hurt! Huh? Since when?!? So right to Emergency we went.

I feared an ear infection and I knew I could tylenol him for night, but his crying really unnerved me, he's never done that before so in we went. Only 2.5 hr wait.

When I entered the emergency room, it was FULL of people that all turned to stare at me struggling to carry in a 55 lb crying child. (he didn't stop for even a moment) All I could say was, wearing a big smile, "Happy Easter everyone!" LOL! How's that for good spirits? I should have been a flippin comedian...

They wouldn't even give me tylenol for Cody because they hadn't examined him yet. So I called hubby to come to us and run us some pain killer.

12:15 AM, Cody is finally in his own bed! What a fiasco.

May your Easter have gone much smoother! Ahh, the memories we have of this one... [Smile]

(I forgot about the good. We got some very good quality chocolate, thank goodness!)

Hey A,

Have you been taking cooking lessons from Kimberly or have you always been that good a cook?? That sounds like a mouth-watering feast to me!! [Wink]

Donna,

Great thread...I've enjoyed reading some good news for a change!! [Smile]

I had a great Easter....nothing went according to plan (of course....hehehe) but it turned out great!! Woke up, stretched, looked out my front window to find my view of the sunrise blocked by a Semi- truck parrell parked in front of the shop. It was a Covenant Transport truck & I thought..."oh yeah, it's Easter!!". Was witing a note to stick on their window giving them permission to park there & letting them know if they needed to use a bathroom or phone, "c'mon in" when some kids walked up & knocked on the truck door. They turned out to be local relatives of the driver so we all had a nice visit & I wound up with some new friends!! The day just continued to improve from there, I love it when a beautiful sunrise is followed by a great day!!! [Wink]

I loved hearing about all your plans! Every little detail! A, I can taste that amazing dinner already. This lady really does know how to cook! First hand experience, she made a wonderful mexican homemade feast in my kitchen one time. WOW!

You know, even with my screeching headache yesterday, I did leave out a very nice part. Hubby took ds out for the day so I could rest. I brought out my very comfy lounger and a blanket, sat on the veranda, dog layed down beside me, and all I could hear were the birds and when I opened my eyes, Easter colors surrounded me. (our daffodiles circle 1/2 our house and they're all in full bloom) It really was an awesome moment and put a smile on my face.

Strange, my truck works fine now, Cody feels better already, lotsa chocolate waiting for me downstairs. Sounds like a fine followup to a fiasco day! [Smile] You're right Dan, tomorrow will be better.

Its already tomorrow here... the server was down for three days over the weekend. No loss for us as it has been a busy weekend.

Peter came home for the weekend and we storyboarded an animated ad campaign for the airline project I am working on. It was fun! And not at all like real work.

We did the turkey dinner on Friday at Grandma's house. And Sundy the celebration moved back to our house. Lots of game playing and the kids were playing their guitars and singing in the background, teaching eacvh other songs they had learned away rom each other.

It was like old times... when the kids were smaller and still home. Nice memories!

Today (Monday) I'm back at my desk, with lots of deadlines looming. But I'm mellow and relaxed, ready for the challenges ahead.

And as always Donna... tomorrow will be better!

Cooking is a hobby for me Chris....my Dad, my brother and I used to sit together and watch the Galloping Gourmet back in the 70's....

Now my brother is a famous celebrity Chef in one of the top restaurants in San Francisco...I'm real proud of him!

Adrienne's brother

I only eat at his place maybe once a year, he treats, otherwise it's way to expensive for me! [Razz]
