I have used Casmate pro for about 6 yrs, I have recently gotten a laptop computer. My question is, is there a way to use casmate or inspire on my laptop without having to purchase a new program with a new Key.Any comments would be greatly appreciated....

You won't like what you hear, but from your question I gather you do not know that: Casmate and Inspire are history, the company "Scanvec" now sells Flexi Software. You can only buy Casmate used, you can't get tech support, you can't get a dongle - you are on your own.
With that comes a certain freedom. You can install Casmate on your laptop (provided you operating system is no higher than Windows 98) and use your dongle. You can find one of us who might share with you a "crack the casmate key" program, so you don't need to use a dongle.
There is another Casmate thread running right now, called "Casmate question, do you know the fix". Read that as well.

I'd be surprised if a laptop you "just got" would not be running XP, unless you got it used. If it's running XP, that will be your problem. I tried to run it on XP using the XP feature of running programs in "W98 environment" but no luck. I also tried using the dongle emmulation software approach, but that requires you to first have things working with the dongle, which won't happen with XP. I considered switching from a pre-installed XP O.S. back to 98, but the manufacturer would no longer support me with any inquiries on my new computer (thats not the worst thing in the world, but I didn't want to go that route) In the end I had a partition set up to run a dual boot & then on the W98 partition I could run Casmate with the dongle, or the "crack", but in my case the partition ended up creating such an unstable machine out of my otherwise newest meanest machine, I just ran my recovery discs to reclaim the XP stability I once had, & settled for running casmate on my older machine.
I'm always impressed by what others have achieved though, so I don;t think for a minute that some of what I failed at could not be done by others. For me, though I wasted more time & money then I want to remember trying to do what you want.
hopefully you don't have XP on your laptop, if you don't then you can ignor me & my woes.

I'n running Casmate 6.52 on my notebook without the dongle and seem to have no problem. You may phone me for any help I can offer. First thing to do is to install Casmate and get it running with your dongle plugged in. Then comes the easy part.
