Has anyone tried American Traffic Safety Materials' paint mask?? Their 87 series is PVC with acrylic adhesive. The 88 series is polypropylene with synthetic rubber adhesive. I want something that will conform to curves and rivets and will work with oilbased or waterbased paints. What is the reason for the different adhesives and film matrerials. Which one do you use?

If nobody uses ATSM paint mask what type do you use?
What is the purpose of using PVC material with acrylic adhesive for one type of mask and polypropylene with synthetic rubber adhesive for the other? The rep I spoke with at ATSM didn't know. Thanks

I haven't tried their paint mask but have used their EC Transparent Overlay Film which is second to none. Ask them to send you a sample of the mask along with a product catalog.

Hi Wayne, Have you ever tried Oracal "Oramask 810"?. I have had good results with it but have found that you must do the job quickly and remove the mask or else some of the adhesive can stay behind. Apart from that it gives a clean edge and conforms around curves including compound with a bit of mucking around.
