Hi Karyn, I'm not sure what the answer to your question is, but I'd phone the Tech Help # for Frog Juice - its 218-236-7000. I found them very helpful when I called last year. Also - I'd put some Frog Juice on a sample substrate and test on it before I tried on the actual truck. If you paint it on the sample after you do the truck it should be safe to mask the truck after the masking can be removed from the sample. Could save you lotsa grief. Or you could be like me and jump in with both eyes closed and screw it up! Good Luck, Kelly

I've been told about 1 hour to let it "bite" into the vinyl before applying the tape. Otherwise you risk peeling the frog juice with your tape. It does dry to the touch in 15-20 minutes though.

As long as we're on the Frog Juice/Edge topic has anyone experianced this problem? Last fall I did a paneled job on MDO. It was complete background coverage with a Spectratone overprint. It seemed that there were a few chips in the color on the panel cut edge. I basically, touched them up with some matched screen ink and sent it out the door. A month or two later the client called and said that there was a few chips on the edge of the cuts showing up but didn't think it was a big problem. I basically told her it it becomes one I'll happily replace the sign. Oh yes, this was Frog Juiced and cut the next day.
I had another job shortly after that. basic three color, Cobalt, Intense Blue and Kumquat. I frogged these and cut them later in the day and ther were obvious chips but only in the Intense Blue. I wondered if my plotter knife was dull so I pulled out the old x-acto and had at it. Nothing to loose at this time. It chipped where ever I cut through color. I masked and applied it to some scrap and basically pulled a bit more color off the edges but the main graphic stayed put.
I haven't used Frog Juice since but have started using Duracoats UV Guard. I really miss the gloss and protection of the liquid stuff though. I had a Process color panel on the shed roof facing east for 4 years. The unprotected half is about gone but the Frogged half looks like new. It's amazing to look at the difference.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Can anyone thing of what I might have done wrong? I loved the stuff and used it for over a year with no problems at all but now I'm totally gun shy.

Thanks Bill for the info on the frog juice test, I've been frogging my prints for over a year now, cause with out it, they just don't perform like they are suppose to, especially the sunflower yellow and reds.

You might want to try UV clear screenprinting ink if working over vinyl, since it's designed for use on vinyls and it doesn't have that nasty 30-day full cure like FrogJuice.. The inks are fully dry in minutes and ready to go out the door... for me, they are far less hassle and I don't have to worry about the inks failing or coming off with transfer tape.

Ive used frog juice many times on vinyl and over one shot, and applied tape after 30 minutes with no problems. Its always been in the warmth of my shop also.

John's 100% right on this one. The only problem that I find with the Frog juice, is that it don't wax very well. It turns chalky, has anyone else discovered this?
