Rapid Remover. It will not damage fiberglass gel coat or awlgrip finishes.

Dan, I think that Rapid Remover is the best. I tried several others and now stick (ha ha pun) to Rapid Remover. Secret is to 'spray' it on. Have a plastic scraper and cheap paper towels. The Rapid Prep Cleaner then cleans everything up after the adhesive removal.

WD-40.....if your near an auto parts store..BUG AND TAR REMOVER, the foaming kind, will sit on vertical surface....and get this STANLEY SCRAPER #28-593 once you use it you will keep 2 0r 3 of em.

Dan... I actually keep a can of CRC BraKleen in my vinyl box. The stuff works great! I spray it on a paper towel and wipe it down, then re-wipe with a second application. Finally, I clean it with Castle Plexo (fibreglas/Acrylic Cleaner)
I've been buying BraKleen by the case for years and have never had a problem.

Hi Roger! I use (and like) Rapid Tac. I have Rapid Remover and use it for stubborn adhesives but I actually prefer to use mineral spirits. I find if I spray it on and let it sit for a minute, the adhesive will scrape right off with a squeegee and then, fall right off the squeegee. It doesn't get all sticky like it does using the Rapid Remover.
I would however like to try your Rapid Prep and your Rapid Tac 2 and will send an e-mail for it. Cleaning is one thing I know I've always done wrong, but so far haven't encountered any problems I can relate to it. I've always used window cleaner and wax and grease remover but Rapid Prep sounds like it could be the winning ticket.

Thanks for all the tips guys. This is actually for my own boat - so of course, all work has ceased while I work on the lettering (can anything be more important than my own boat lettering?!)
Roger was kind of enough to call and offer some tips, as well as send me a sample of the rapid remover.
My concern was more about the gel coat, and I wondered if some of the more caustic items would damage the hull. I'm going to give the rapid remover a shot.
