I was looking at these at BestBuy. I really like how small they are. I am curious as to how well the picts turn out and also the QuickTime movie clips you can make.
I currently still have my Kodak DC210 Plus. It's worked great but is outdated now and I would love to have the higher megapixel picts.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey Si! I haven't really checked out any Kodaks this go around. I really liked the button layout and design of the Nikon. I have a USB Compact Flash Reader so uploading stuff is no sweat. The Nikon is very compact and would fit easily into my pocket which is good for me because I always drop my Kodak. I'm surprised it even functions anymore!
Thanks for the tip!

Hi Amy, I met you and your other half at PKings. I'm not that familiar with the Nikon models you are speaking of but I do have a Coolpix 5000 and believe me, they are really fine cameras. The only thing I would be concerned about is the rotatable lense housing, you know, the way the camera seems to be in two pieces joined together. The electrical connections thru that swivel joint may fail as time goes by. Of course it may be designed to avoid such a situation. I don't know! You might take that into consideration. Hope this helps.

I bought a CoolPix 950 when they first came out. 2.1 mpixels was tops. I am still using and absolutely love the swivel joint. It still takes wonderful pics. I had a few little problems (like sometimes I would have to take the batteries out to get it to shut off) but they got fixed when I had to send it back to Nikon for repair when my husband had it and let it swing into something. I do have to say that the customer service was awful. It took forever to get it back. I would buy another Nikon again though.

The two I looked at didn't have a swivel point. At least I didn't see any, not sure what that is. The only mechanical parts were the zoom and the on/off swivel switch. Is that what you meant?
I'm off to Disney. Have a great Saturday!
