As an officially diagnosed ADD person.....I often find myself miles from my starting point in doing internet research......

I found this site and was amazed by the interesting art and design....

I encountered 'waterclosets' as a teenager during a summer in England...the powerful rush of water from that box overhead was most impressive!

But I never saw anything like these!

hmmmm....if I could find a kiln big enough...... [Razz]

That is some pretty crappy art. [Wink] Seriously, they are beautiful and I enjoyed seeing them.

Adrienne....if you really want one...check out your local wrecking & demolition companies! They save all the usable and antique items from the old buildings!

Unless it is a real rarity, prices are quite reasonable.

How many people know that the man that invented the toilet was named Crap? Thus the word crapper was coined.

Bought an oak wall mounted tank and porcelain stool for 10 bucks over 30 years ago. Installed it when I built my home in '81. Still got the copper lining in it. Really livens up the conversation when guests use it for the first time. Especially the loud gurgling sound when it is flushed. Still looking for a good "quote" to Gold leaf on the front of the tank. Something to read when your just standing there....it's a guy thing.

Adrienne;

Royal Daulton's main line of business is china (plates, tea pots and the like) and those thunder mugs!!! The cute little figurines are just a sideline.

Thanks for the history lesson, Adrienne. What strikes me is how l-o-n-g it took humans to invent and use flush toilets. They've lived in pretty-large cities for 5,000 years. Archemedes could have made these things, a couple hundred years BC. So we have a fair approximation of how LONG people will put up with crap before doing something about it. But as for how MUCH, that's unfathomed.
