Before removing the tape hit with a heat gun and squeegie the "H.E double hockey sticks" out of it! The lower the gloss the harder it is to make it stick. I have done vinyl graphics indoors on flat paint with success but it was a pain in the rear. I have alos used a Sherwin-Williams "super paint" which is high gloss and dries extrememly fast (they use it for doors and windows so they can close them quicker). I have actually painted a concrete beam with it and put a heat lamp on it then stuck vinyl lettering on it all within an hour! Good stuff. Hope that helps.

it will work as long as you don't try to apply vinyl to a "dead flat" latex background.

no tooth for the adhesive to grab.

Brian is on the right track. Sometimes the vinyl will lift when you remove the transfer tape. More heat, more rubbing. We have a small hard roller overlaid with sandblast mask. You get the vinyl hot and roll like crazy. If the vinyl does not lift in the first 24 hours, you are probably ok. There have been a couple of times where we had to change paints to get things to work, but heat and pressure work 90 percent of the time.

Tell her to have them take it back and paint over the latex with an enamel.

check the latex paint could very well be the type that has teflon in it I do work for our art gallery a lot and they repainted not telling me they used teflon based acrylic and you guessed it nothing will stick to it for long as most of my sign there are temporary I now use premium grade with the most agressive adhesive I could get and they sometimes last a week if we are lucky but generally nothing will stick to it that is why it is sold as an easy to clean paint

If it's Benjamin Moore paint, forget about trying to get it to stick and stay. I wouldn't use anything less than a semi-gloss if it's latex made by Sherwin Williams, Coronado, Duron (I've tried these and they work) and several other companies.

We apply Premium vinyl over gloss and hi- gloss latex (Sherwynn Williams DTM and Superpaint)all the time. No problems.

I would not apply it over flat latex though.

I believe you can paint over your flat latex with OneShot too.
