Thanks for the reminder...I'm running out the door to work but I sent her this great classical piano version of Happy Birthday that I have, complete with colorful balloons.

Hi Kent,I talked to Ray Chapman and he reminded me so I called and wished her happy birthday, only taked "aboot" a half hour as she was being taken "oot" for lobster as Rick used to do every year. Happy Birthday didn't seem right but it sure was nice to hear her voice again. I used Dan Sawatzky's idea and on the monday of the service took a personal indulgence (self abuse)day and put some gold on 5 pieces of glass that I brought back from Esoteric when we went there on our honeymoon in 1990. I think I'll send one to Lola. By the way, the first piece of glass I chipped and angel gilded fell down when the hooks came out of the frame on that same monday morning aboot 11.00. It had hung there over the desk for 8 years. I guess Rick didn't like the layout! Pete Payne Willowlake Design Canadian Signcrafter Supply

HAPPY 82nd LOLA! ... hope there's many more to come!
If I'm as vibrant and loveable at your age ... who could ask for more
I had the fortune to meet you and Rick the Wednesday before he died. You took the time out to give Sue (my wife) and Marty (Si Allen's wife) a grand tour of your awsome shop. Meanwhile Rick did the same for Me and Si. I gained a friend instantly. Although he has gone now, he will remain with me in thought ... you too!

Hi Lola, this is Sue, Jon's wife. I just fell in love with you and your work. You made it all come to life for me. I didn't know anything about goldleaf or restoration until you took the time to show me around your show room. I hope you enjoyed your birthday. Rick will be sadly missed. I couldn't believe it when I was told he had suffered a heart attack. He was so big and with it when we visited you. I will never forget the experience. The photos Jon took, only remind me of you and Rick, and they will main special memories. I wish you well whatever the future holds for you. You will ever remain in my thoughts. All my love. Sue.
Jon back: Somebody please forward this thread to Lola.
You are one beautiful lady Lola .. wish I had you for a mum!
