Some of you must be thinking we fell off the Earth. Nope! We're alive and almost well at the home of RT Thomas in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
I've been feeling under the weather for most of the 3 weeks we have been on the road. Difficulty in breathing and extreme fatique are my main probs. With my history of heart trouble, we were starting to get worried.
I finally took the plunge yesterday and went to a walk-in clinic here in Hattiesburg. Us Canadians are taught that seeing a doc here in the US may cost us our house, so I was very apprehensive about going. I'm sure glad I did!
The Doctor assured me my problem is bronchitis and allergies. I never knew I even had allergies. She gave me a ventilin treatment and a prescription for anti-biotics. She also solved an insulin problem we have been experiencing. Most important of all, she cleared up my fears that congestive heart failure might be back. She says we're ok to continue our journey. Whew!
I slept better last night. RT has been a wonderful host the last few days. This is a very special house. The shower here is the very best I have ever experienced. Talk about pressure!
We're packing up to move down the road later today. Our next stop is Kathy Joiner's in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Kathy's shop was the location of last years Coupe du Maine Meet. Kathy drew my name in the Letterville Panel Exchange and I am looking forward to picking it up in person.
From Kathy's, we'll head for Pensacola, FL and work our way down to St. Petersburg and Ft. Meyers. We owe some people in Texas an apology. Our original plan was to spend far more time meeting up with Texas Letterheads. As my breathing deteriated, we made a decision to head East as quick as possible in case we had to make a run for home. I know our friends will understand.
Thanks to all of you who have opened your hearts and homes to us. This Letterhead Network we all enjoy is a real blessing when on the road. Looking forward to seeing you all at the Sandcastle Panel Jam, April 25, 26 and 27th, in Fort Myers, Florida. It's going to be a blast!

Glad to hear everything turned out OK. Bronchitis can be a real bitch to kick, the good thing is warm weather helps If you never knew you had alergies, you'll find out real quick if you spend any amount of time in the Mid South, between the pollen, mold spores and all it's really bad. Guess where the worst place in the country is? Be glad you didn't swing by here to visit. Bob Dylan played an outdoor concert here one summer a few years back and it almost killed him. See ya'll in Florida.

Yep! Glad to hear that you went in and had yourself looked at. Now you can enjoy your drive around the neighborhood. Barb, you and R.T. did a good job getting Steve in to the clinic. Bronchitis and allegies will knock you down quick. I still remember the first call I got from some wildman talking about lancing a boil with an exacto knife.
