What a fantastic trip to USA these last two weeks have been. Worth every cent
First I wanna thank publicly our hosts Si&Marty Allen and Monte&Patsee Jumper. Although we have "known" you all these years thru Letterville Chat, your hospitality overwhelmed us and we can't wait to reciprocate. That goes for all you "up-over" friends. It was great to meet in real life people I have talked with here, especially Steve & Barb who made the whole thing possible.
Fred's Meet was great. Even Sue my wife got involved and did 3 panels!!! She gets bored at meets here hahahahaa. It was "quiet" by Oz standards Only RT airbrushing (we have lots) and so many unreal pinstripers (we have few) but I got to sandblast a cedar panel (haven't done that since I left New Zealand 17 years ago). Other than that, it was a typical letterhead meet ... talent everywhere, exchange of ideas and friendship.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS ... just a taste of ... there are so many!
Sue saying "yes, that would be nice" after I showed her Monte"s official e-mail invitation!
Visiting my old "home" town Laguna Beach California where I lived for a year back in the 70s.
Visiting Rick Glawsons shop on the wednesday before he died. I probably have the last photo of him alive. What a man!
Meeting my "twin brother" Monte. The similarities in our lives are uncanny. He's 8 months older tho and has more hair on top.
Fred's Meet and the awsome pinstriping.
Oklahoma City and it"s sights and restaurants.
Airport Security ... Sue getting busted with two pairs of nail sissors LA to OK via Dallas for got to put them in the check in bags. Me carring a double edge safety razor at the time thru 16 check-ins!!!!!
The sight of knee deep grass in our front yard on return. And the taste of the first cold VB Beer for two weeks. Hahahahaha
And so many more.
Thanks everyone. It will all be remembered. I took 200 digital pics and two rolls film. Will post some here when I get time.
Come on down to Oz Meet September this Year in Cairns, North Queensland. It will be a good one

Of course Ozzies are welcome bearing Tims Tams and Cherry Ripe bars hahahahha
I even bribed my way into a Parrots heart:)
Couple more "memorable moments"
Head TV at Si's place with me next to him feeding Tim Tams to Byrd on his shoulder. Yer could almost hear Empy in Chicargo sobbing into his computer:) Made up for it by posting him an opened pack with the first one 1/2 eaten and a bunch of parrot feathers
While at Si's place he was having a running battle with an architect who specified 10 lines of 5" Letters on a 10x4 ... WHITE lettering on a WHITE background! hahahahaha While at Monte's I'm am watching him cutting red and white letters to go on red and white bands on a Real Estate sign. Didn't want to show my Ozzie ignorance so I didn't say anything:) White on white again hahahahaha Believe it or not, I get home to find one Job ... Burgundy tent with 3 colour logo as specified ... turquoise blue, chrome yellow, and I bet you never can guess what the main color was!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you made it back safely, Jon! And good to hear that Sue had a good time too. They're good people, aren't they? And the same goes here, if any of my up-over buddies want to come and crash at my place I've got a spare bed, and can cook well, so it wouldn't be that much of a hardship
Well, I've got a painting to get back to.. catch yas later!
Kat.

G'day Jon, glad you made it back safe and sound. It was a real pleasure meeting you and your wife. If you didn't get to read some of the posts from Monte, I want to thank you again for the fine quill. When I returned to my shop there was a sign that needed a gold leaf stripe boarder and the quill was just perfect for the job. Keep up the beautiful work.
