I finally recieved a deposit on this EDA sign, started searching for the logos and now I can't find them.
I have searched the site http://www.osec.doc.gov/eda/ and can't find even a PDF of the image anywhere...only GIFs
These are the logos which we need:

I have called government offices in Washington DC, Atlanta, and Tallahassee as well as the webmaster of the site. They are telling me that only bitmap files exist, but I don't think they really know.

Has anyone had any dealings with this logo?

Thanks

I remember your other post on these logos. What arrangements were made re: artwork when you secured the job & collected the deposit?

Doug,
I told them I wouldn't pursue it any further until I recieved a deposit.

I now have a deposit.

Are you planning to cut these in vinyl or print them or both?

The EDA logo would be best printed and cut on an Edge or a Summa. I would be looking for a bitmap that is at least 72 dpi at the final production size.

The "American Jobs" piece could be reset easily enough for vinyl cutting. I would identify the typefaces used and hand digitize the red stripes and star. Probably take about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Thanks Fred,
I finally ended up obtaining a TIF file of the round logo from the EDA office in Atlanta.

I couldn't get SignWizard to import it but Corel 9 would. After two attempts at vectorizing it in CorelTrace(the computer froze up both times) I exported it as a tif again......then Sign Wizard would take it [Roll Eyes] .

After vectorizing it in SignWizard, it doesn't look too bad. I will probably replace the arc copy around the perimeter with the closest looking font and try cutting it on the plotter.

It would need to be 19.5'' and so wouldnt work on an Edge.

I intend to do just what you said...re-build the "American Values" one.

Thanks everyone for the help.

The logos appear to be plain old, garden-variety Times Bold and Arial Bold or Black Italic.

Not sure why you wouldn't do a two panel Edge print. We do them all the time with no complaints. This is an example of a 22" version we do regularly:

Thanks Fred,
I don't have an Edge or close access to one.
I can cut the vinyl on this one quicker that it would be to outsource it.

Thanks very much for the help.
