I'm a member who is learning daily from all your experience. This is a great place to be, however now I was wondering if there is anyone out there with silk screening experience. I need to know how to get artwork camera ready. I know this may be a little off the beaten track of sign making but I'll just bet one of you experienced professionals will be able to help me.

W, In screen printing "camera ready" is considered to be black and white clean line art, as produced by a computer or by hand. When more that one color is to be printed, it can mean a black and white of each separate color to be printed. It can also be provided black and clear as a negative to the screen printer. bronzeo

If you will create your own art, you could draw directly on drafting vellum with something like a rapidiograph pen. You could either make a full-color original & then draw color seperated overlays on top of it, or if you can think & draw in layers, just start drawing one plate (all colors to be drawn in black as Jack said) & then build up your overlays on different sheets of vellum. Make sure you understand "trap" so you can draw in the overlaps as needed (preferrably dark colors laying over light colors)
