Glenn Beck in the morning & Sean Hannity in the afternoon.
I love music and have a heck of a collection but I'm just finding it hard to listen to musicians and actors who compare our president to Hitler and call our soldiers baby killers. Sure, they have a right to their ideas but I have a right to disagree. And I vote with my time & my wallet.
It's a shame too 'cause I really like some of their music and films.

I dont listen to the radio too much anymore, mostly christian rock and modern christian music, the music is the same if not better with a positive message.
If I am going to get subliminal messages, I'd rather they be positive rather than the crap on the radio today. It's so amazing how degrading most modern music really is?

Glenn, I used to enjoy internet radio from Radio Free Virgin untill last Fall when they went to a pay to listen format. Their GameGoth channel plays lots of music I later went out and bought (gasp!). Sure lots of stuff is out there for "free" on P2P networks, but it's a lot of guesswork with shabby files and if I plan to listen over and over I'd rather have a good copy and rip my own mp3s. Maybe post some of the links to internet radio that's still playing, since most that I had tuned into have stopped after the Music bill that passed last Fall. Also what mp3 rip program do others here use?

"Progressive" rock made a comeback in the 90's, and it's been completely "under the radar." If you liked Yes, Genesis, ELP, King Crimson, Renaissance, Jethro Tull, etc., there are bands out now doing stuff every bit as good, if not better.
Here are some of the new heavyweights that I enjoy:
The Flower Kings (from Sweden, sort of the Yes of the 90's, very positive messages and vibes)
Transatlantic (a prog "supergroup" with members from 4 different bands, made two albums)
Gerard (from Japan, an aggressive ELP/UK type of trio, mostly instrumental)
Echolyn (snappy low-fi sound with occasional Gentle Giant-like harmonies; mature songs about life and Americana)
Niacin (rock/jazz/funk/fusion instrumental trio with monster chops - features Hammond B3 organ player, and Billy Sheehan on bass - latest CD, "Time Crunch" is their best by far)
There are others who could be on this list, but their great instrumental playing is cancelled out by negative, depressing, sick or gruesome lyrics and themes. I concur with Bob Rochon in that I don't want to fill my head with stuff like this.

I'm 53, square, and grew up on Beachboys music. My son sent me a cd of John Mayer's Room for Squares. Enjoyed it so much I went to see him in concert.
