Pretty much it's gotta rock! And it's all new stuff, alternative. I burn CD's with a mix of all the songs from the bands I like and that's what i listen to and take with me on jobs. Gets me in the "production" mode!

We bought ourselves a 5 disc changer that plays MP3's. We start at 7:00 AM every day and when we leave at 4-5 PM, the same CD is still playing. It is like listening to the radio without stupid DJ's. Imagine a station playing songs where you like every single one. It is awesome.
We have have 2 country CDs that have close to 400 songs between the two of them. A wild eclectic mix of old to new. Same goes for the 4 rock CDs we have. Put it on shuffle and you never know what you are going to get. Yup, everyday is a whole new ballgame.
I am playing "Thunderstruck" right now in your honor....

I dug through some old tapes and put in Weird Al Yankovitz's FOOD ALBUM! forgot those songs were so funny.
Then I dug around and found an old Best of Jerry Reed tape, including theme to Smokey and the Bandit, When you're hot you're hot, Amos Moses, She got the Gold mine...I got the shaft.
Think I'll dig around for some more old tapes tomorrow. Brings back happier memories than the stuff we have to listen to to on todays radio stations.

Lately it's a compilation of my fav songs from Zeppelin I through Houses of The Holy. Then Phish Rift, Black Crowes Greatest Hits, then a Phish/Dead comp CD. Drives my boss nuts!! SHe's a Celine person.
PS Bruce- how do you get 400 songs on one CD? I downloaded an MP3 from a website to try a new program and the song was over 5MB. I already have the song as a Windows CDA file at around 2-1/4MB. Is it a setting thing? This MP3 thing is still new to me as I have no player for it, but I may soon...

The background sound in the shop lately has been CNN. Waiting for the announcement of this foolish war.
I ran out and got Norah Jones and The Dixie Chicks' Home after the Grammys. Love Norah. The Chicks were great, but that voice can grate on you after a while.

LOUD angry rock... System of a Down is coming up most frequently, but other goodies like Flaw, SpineShank, Mudvayne, and (hed)PE keep me rocking. gotta love the mp3 jukebox, dump 'em in and they play all day. also i take lunchtime out to tune into Jim Rome for a little sportstalk and his Clone's wacky e-mails.

Put a satellite dish on the shop just for music. Got 40 channels of ad & dj free music plus the top 30 stations in the country to choose from..
Mostly listening Oz or goldrock, with occasional forays into blues when I can get away with it, six people working here and not everyone has the same taste in music.

How are the radio stations in your area Joe? We have a pretty varied assortment coming out of New Orleans However, it seems that they just play the same 20 songs over and over. Music is too important to the flow of art to listen to dire straits 53 times before lunch.

I like to relax with intellectually stimulating bands like Sepultura (love the way “Beneath the Remains ends) that bands guitars are awesome. Also Pantera, Megadeth, Mettalica, NIN, Primus. All the way to Willie Nelson and Tobie Keith and most everyone in between. I too have over 600 songs played randomly. You never get tired of them because you never know what is next. Oh well got to go get some “Beer for my Horses” but I’ll leave you with a snippet from Sepultura, a band I’m sure most of you have never heard. (and probably don’t want to) It kind of relates to that war thing.
We gamble with life fighting tribes after tribes Colors and races misplaced in the spaces We're falling, we're crawling, we're crying, denying
Heavy rain shaking ground, no roots will be found Hate from my mother, the limits of mankind We're lying, we're dying, destroying
The earth is rotting, the earth is rotting Rot old old earth The earth is growing, it keeps on growing Rot old old earth
Believing in gods and spirits that can save us Shout to the skies and disturbing the peace We're rioting, we're shouting, we're killing, denying
Involved in our minds but not by our own actions Consume all the wealth, there's no hope for redemption We're burning, we're cutting, destroying
Can you feel? Can you feel it leave!
