Ok... fess up...

How many of you guys have tattoos? What are they of and where? What made you decide on the design?

I've got a frog on my left ankle. Gonna go with a friend from work to get my next one the end of March - still coming up with the final design for that - up on my right shoulder blade area. Kinda leaning toward tribal flame design with a rose, but got pinstripe-y stuff in my head, too. I'd better decide by then, huh?!

I have to have rocks in my head for answering this post...but since I'm here...I have never understood a perfectly beautiful person marking themselves for life.

I have no tatoos but am willing to accept the fact that everyone has the right to do as they please.

There is a really pretty gal here that works at a diner in town, she started off with a nice "cute" tatoo on her backside...then wanted to add to it and got a hack the second time ...it was so ugly she found someone else to rework the hacks job ...now the thing has grown to cover most of her back and she's devestated and wishes she'd neavr had the first one done.

Kinda hard to understand ...but ...to each his own.

I'll say this it's a hell of a commitment but I still prefer my women nekked! (so to speak)

I have 18 tats in all, most i designed i have a 12" mickey mouse on my upper back, the sobe lizards on my lower back, on my right hip stretching from front to back is the symbol of aquarius with 3 dolphins in a cicle and some tribal, under that on my outer leg is a tibal down to my knee, and under that is a mermaid. on the front of my left leg is the 1930's version of mickey mouse. on my upper right arm I have an octopus wraping around, and down by my right wrist is a seahorse. On my left upper arm i have spiderman(covering up my ex-fiances name...shoulda listened to my friends on that one) On my left forearm i have a sacred heart, and along the top of my arm is the #20051316051920 (it spells the word"tempest" with the corsponding letters to the #'s. under my watch band is a really small heart. On my left hip I have a daisy, on my upper thigh i have a black rose, under that is a skull with a daisy (my fisrt tattoo) lets say under my "belly button" i have the symbol of infinity, and on my right ankle i have a gecko....i think thats all of them. they become very addicting, and on a normal day you wouldn't even know i had any.

I got most of mine close to forty years ago and wish that I never did it. Things I related to then are foreign to me now. Some identify with this pictorial personal history, I'd rather remember my past in other ways.

I've got 2. On my back I have the Looney Toon pit crew. Taz, Bugs, Roadrunner, Daffy, Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn. On my right upper arm I have the #3 and Dale Earnhardt's Signature. I must confess the pit crew idea was from seeing someone at the track where I race with the "Big Johnson" Pit crew on his back. Thought it was a good idea but wanted something a little less brash. The Earnhardt one was right after he died. I've followed him since his dirt trackin days and thought of it as a reminder of a man I looked up to as a real american hero.
On the down side the pit crew hurt like he@# and the colors have faded some. The up side is I get lots of complements from people about it.
As for anymore... well my 6 yr old has started asking me when he can get one. Kinda hard to lead by example on this one.

I have a few myself, compared to some people I saw at a tattoo parlor when I put up a sign I was like a puppy. When I was in my early 20's I used to do alot of tattooing, I rigged up a machine out of a lady's electric shaver. Every party I went to always made money and had a pocket full of dope too.
Not long ago I was at a flea market and bought one to see if I could still tattoo, only thing is now I have to use glasses to see better, but I can still sling some ink. I almost thought of buying me a complete kit and do it on the side for cash money.
Here's a trippy story if you have time to read: I was working at a tattoo shop helping this other guy out. In walks this nice looking babe, she asks if I could "fix" her butterfly tattoo, I look at it on her wrist, someone made some mistakes kind of bad, so I grab an ink pen and start drawing on the existing butterfly and fix it, and tell her here's what I would do for it. I gave her a price maybe $40 bucks 20 minutes worth of work, (they charge BIG time now) she said sure, go ahead. Well I go to tattooing but my gun I'm using is sort of spitting leaving a splatter, so I have to wipe periodically and removing my lines at the same time. At this time the guy I was working for was in the next booth with his friend but talking very quitely. I finish the tattoo and the lady is very happy and pays me and even gives me a tip.
As soon as she walked out they pop their heads over the booth and say "Do you know who that was?" Nah just some chick who wanted me to fix the tack" NO DUDE! that was so and so's ole lady he's one of the top dudes of the Hells Angels around here. I said really! "how come you guys didn't say anything?" They said because we didn't want you to get nervous. The dude who put that butterfly on her was found DEAD in a river bed...

I always wanted tats since I saw the first biker with them when I was about 4 years old. I got some whilst in the Navy and have them as souvenirs from places I've been - I can't lose them that way. I also have them where I can see them, and can hide them. I have one I designed that says "Sworn To Fun - Loyal To None". My mother used to beg me not to get my arms all black with tattoos - so that's exactly what I wanted to do. ha ha - never got sleeved, though I do like to see that. Always wanted a King Neptune scene all over my back and a dozen roses on my chest but lack of money and a low pain threshold have saved Mom from that.

I could never understand the guys who got tats and later said they were drunk and didn't know what they were doing. I've been drunk enough to black out for a day and wake up in a strange city - but I never woke up with tattoos I didn't know about.I wanted all of mine and still like them.

I saw a biker once that had a "Lord's Prayer" changed to all Harley wording thet covered his back - and it had a whole bunch of misspelled words on it. I bet nobody has ever told him.

I saw an interesting sign in the window of a tat parlor once; "Ever notice - people with tattoos don't care whether you have them or not?"

OK, Cisco's post reminded me of something that happened in my shop. There was this nice looking biker gal that lived down the street from the shop, and sometimes she would come by and talk and watch me work. I was always real nervous about it because her biker boyfriend was about 6 foot 6 -- 320 and never smiled. I made sure the door was wide open when she was in there and I was not real close to her in case he happened by.

One day she came stomping into the shop and said "I'm going to a biker party tomorrow and I want a big Harley tattoo all over my chest that says "F**k the World" and that big doofus won't let me have it! Can you paint one on me for the party?"

That's all I would need - cross paths with that guy. I whined and wheedled out of it opting for a small experimental one done in felt marker that could be washed off, if Godzilla didn't approve. I put a little free Minnie Mouse on her, kinda up towards her shoulder.

I never saw her again. But then I never saw him again, either, which is all right with me.

I have many.

But the one that stands out is the first one.
Tommorrow is Linda and My 27th anniversary.
Loving every minute of it!!!!!!!!!!

When I first meet her I want to show my love for her and desided to get a Tat.

Well it started out as a Heart with a Reath around it and the letters of (B.E.B.)
in the centre.
It stands for (BLUE EYED BABE)

Many ask what it was and I told them Blue Eyed Babe, but if it didn't work out then I will find someone with Brown eyes!!!
And if we were to get into a bad fight it would stand for (Black Eyed Babe!)
Only joking as I would never harm a hair on my wifes beautiful body.

I like tattoo's, but, I don't have any, and I know why. About a year ago I had my shop truck painted and while it was in the shop I airbrushed the front of it. I got tired of the airbrushing after awhile and re-painted it.

Thats exactly what would happen if I got a tat!

My wife wants some kind of tattoo on her ankle and was asking me for idea's, so I told her to get "Property Of Da Sign Guy". Of course she balked, BUT said that she would put my trademark under the design. I was only kidding, but I really like the trademark idea.....

A few years ago, my youngest (twisted) sister and I gave each other a gift certificate for a tattoo,as a birthday present (unknown til it happened & our birthdays are about a week apart).

I designed a large 1" hollow heart with several smaller solid hearts flowing thru and below it and had it tattooed on my right side just below my waist.Whole thing is about 2 1/2" high.

It's not visible, unless of course I'm wearing a
bikini.(or if I show someone)

I don't regret it, but am glad it is both tasteful and discrete

My wife designed this and had it tattooed on her shoulder. She says it hurt! As anyone who has met us knows, we raise flying squirrels, and she decided to experiment with the "Pacific Northwest" style, which I think lends itself well to tattoos.

A flying squirrel research site liked her artwork enough to negotiate the rights to use it as their logo. "glaucomys" is the latin name for two North American types of flying squirrels; The larger Northern variety (glaucomys sabrinus), likes mushrooms, hence the amanita mushroom in the logo. The tattoo has an acorn instead, as we keep the smaller southern variety who love acorns.

I have three tattoo's and love them. They are not for everyone. One on my ankle, and two on my lower back that are next to each other (flower and a butterfly) I also have my naval pierced. That hurt more then the tattoo's. I like them because I can show them when I want to, and hide them when I need to.
