All I could find was for a German release of fonts.

Yes, THANKS!

I was about to write a nasty letter to Corel expressing my frustration with some bugs that kept cropping up.

I hope this solves them.

Glenn...What were some of the bugs you encountered? The only one that I know about was when doing major node editing it will sometimes lock up and there is no way to save anything. My only saviour was 10 minute auto-backups and manual back-ups whenever i thought about it. Hope this service pack fixes that.

Sometimes, I would use the Ctrl+Shft+Q command to convert strokes to vectors and I'd get some unusual results. Other times it would cause Corel to lock up.

Another would be when I add a contour to a text object or a traced object. Corel would lock up as well.

It seems that the system resources were being sucked dry worse than Adobe Photoshop. I don't know if it was due to a memory leak or what.

Yep, its worse.

Try this.....

Type the letter "s" (lower case)using the defalt font, AvantGarde.

Enlarge it to 240 points.

Give it a "red" fill.

Then give it a blue stroke.

Increase the size of the stroke to 0.028"

Then press "Ctrl+Shft+Q"

The end result is a screwed up vector.

Many of the "nodes" are not joined properly and in some instances are duplicated on top of other nodes.

VERY WIERD Glenn!!! I never ran into that since I use contour instead of convert outline to object.

I use the command for creating traps for screen printing. It saves a few steps compared to using the contour command for this particular application.

Thank you for the link. I was on Corel's site last night hoping a service pack was available. I have been SO disappointed in Corel 11, for the reasons Glenn mentions, among many others. I would fire it and go back to version 9 in a heartbeat if I could only find disc 1 of version 9 (too much office remodeling around here). I will install this patch and see what happens. I should probably have installed the patch before posting.

Ooops ... sorry for the bad link..
I received the notification from unleashed.com and downloaded it from there. I didn't want to pass on a third party link for a service pack so I linked to the corel site where the service pack should be. ... Go figure

I've got the same memory problems with 11. It's on a p4 with a gig of ram, windows 2k pro o/s. I've allocated 75% of memory to it and it still occasionally tells me I'm low on resources even though turbomem tells me I've well over 600meg of free ram.. I'm not ready to roll it out through the rest of the shop just yet. The service pack didn't seem to help the memory issue.
I find copying object to the clip board much slower than previous versions. and I've had issues with paragraph text losing vertical kerning, when dealing with lots of text. I hope issues get solved, I really like some of the features. Meanwhile, version 9 has been solid as a rock since I upgraded shop to windows 2000.

Installed the service pack. Rebooted. No improvement. Corel 11 still does not remember when I change from T1 to TT when I save a drawing, it still randomly loses my T1 fonts, I still have to navigate with the mouse, clicking on two separate boxes when a simple "Enter" would suffice and many other backwards productivity issues...

I took their survey after the download and gave them a piece of my mind (about 3 IQ points worth). Wait a minute! That's not a piece. That's the whole thing!

After learning some hard lessons over the years since version 1 days, I decided not to fix what aint broke. I received Corels 30 day trial demo and put it on another machine to have a look at any new features. I wasnt impressed enough to spend the $225 upgrade price.

Version 9 is what I am still using and most likely will stay with for a long time to come. Its been for the most part solid and it does more than what I need it to do.

I think I'm finally getting wiser in my golden years.
