We just got home from Joey Hutsons "Panel Jam" In Monroe Louisiana...The Hosts Joey and Kay were superb hosts...along with their children Jodi and Josh they presented a met that was second to none.Joey has a great new shop and wanted to share it with all that came.
His "home based" shop is about 20 miles south of highway 20 in picturesque "swomp" country.Donuts and coffee opened the meet every day with cold cuts and refreshments served for lunch and home cooked Louisiana cuisine was served 3 nites in a row with lots of smiling faces and fat tummys.Joey's friends kept the food flowing and extended every courtesy you could want.
Lots of panels were created (everyone worked on everyones) as Joey would say "there was a lot of great fellowship, good food and Blues".( served up from Leon Samples...out of Oklahoma City).
There was an excellent turn out covering the whole U.S. of A.(including Seattle) and even one party from Canada (Unkl Ian). Those that wished to learn did so and those that wished to teach did a fine job and all of us had a good time.
It's always good to "raft up" with friends! I'll try to load up some pics here in a few days! Thanx Joey...Let us know when the next one is "We'll be there"
And did I mention the quality of work Joey's doing "absolutely superb".

Glad to hear that the meet was a huge success. This would have been my first, but we buried our Mom this weekend so of course I couldn't make it. You guys & gals keep me posted about future meets, please. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Adrianne, I hope to meet you some day. You are a real kick on this board.

Yeeehaaaaah! Or as they say over where Joey lives....Aieeeeeeeee! Monte and Pat King were just being modest in describing the event Joey Hutson and his family hosted for us this past weekend in West Monroe, Louisiana! As a newbie and first time attendee, I have artistic license to go beserk in my evaluation of this gathering of talent. What a blast! How 'bout...mind boggling! Superalitives unlimited! Enough said! I have a number of pictures of the panels, the food and the whole gang as a group... and as individuals...I'll be sharing with you as soon as I can get it all put together! Adrienne, my dear friend! You were'nt able to be there but Pat brought the banner from Commerce and everyone got to see your message in the scroll! You just gotta make the next one! And Kathy! You won't believe your eyes when you go to one of these events! 'Course, living in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, you'll be called on to teach everyone how to say "Aieeeeeeeee!" properly! A great bunch of folks...and thanks to all of you who were there for making me feel like part of the family!

Sounds like another great Letterhead Meet. Our congrats to the hosts and all who made it out to this meet. Gregg is putting all his memories down on "paper" to share with all of us in Letterville. Nothin' gets our mojo going like hearing from someone who has attended their first meet!
Let's start talking up Fred's meet in Oklahoma. Someone out there will make a quality decision to make this meet their first meet. It just grows and grows!

I would advise anyone who has NEVER been to a LIVE meet to make Fred's a must to do in 2001. I enjoyed talking to Several FIRST TIMERS with the thirst to learn, and ask questions to do so.Everyone was willing to share and show to anyone that asked.Because someone shared and showed us at one time or another. After all,This is what the Letterhead movement is all about! As much as the invitation on this website is for one and all,So are the Live meets! Ya'll come now...Ya hear

I have to tell you guys, we've been to a lot of meets and Joey's rates right up there! it was Joe's 1st event and he put one out of the park as far as I'm concerned! Thank You Joey! Rhonda and I had a great time painting and carving with you guys. I got to meet some of the southern boys and make some genuine new friends we pigged out on the gumbo and cornbread and painted till the wee hours. there was some really cool stuff put out there! Rhonda and i left on sunday and headed to New Orleans and checked out the french quarter and ate some cajin cookin'. on the way home we saw this incredible wall dog of a clarinet on a Holiday Inn wall. It was about 18 stories tall! It was just awesome! if you are ever there you need to see this thing! well thanks again Joey and it was sure nice to meet you guys! Oh Yeah, Buy the way RT, I want my damn door prize!!! hahaha ;P
