Penny asked me last week what I wanted for my Birthday (Sat.).
I told her all I wanted was to watch the 500 in Peace (Kids have a habit of getting wild when I want to watch something special) and I wanted to go off my diet and make my famous "Steak Hoagies"
I got to do both, Thanks Penny!!!

I was a huge Earnhardt fan .. and I still am, and yes it was a crummy way to win the race, but thats a little ignorant. Waltrip is still one of the most sincere drivers on the track. And he has come a long way in ability in the last few years .. especially on superspeedways. If I were you I would have kept that comment to myself Chris. Who do you think would have been the first to congratulate him ... hmm i'm thinking #3 .... (Just my opinion)
I would have rather seen Jr. or Harvick win Ryan

Actually, Nascar is pretty easy. You just sit in your easychair with a bag of Doritos and a Pepsi and go...Left turn....left turn....left turn....

Glenn, is that your gaming machine? Here I thought I had it good with a 19" monitor, force feedback Logitec wheel, and (one time) monster CPU (1.8mHz, 512mb, GeForce 4 128mb). I feel so cheated. How about some specs on that setup; looks like a motion generator under the seat, as well as a large monitor. Up in Concord, NC near the Lowe's track (Charlotte Motor Speedway) they had a NASCAR Silicon Speedway. My famiy's racecar fabrication shop (Hutcherson-Pagan) built the simulators that remind me of the photo you've posted. Those were awsome; it had 3 panel projection screens on the each wall for total immersion, a full 3/4 scale car body for 2 persons, a 5 speed with clutch, and the whole car had the motion action. There were about 20 cars lined up in a horseshoe and were all connected to race in events. The tracks were chosen according to skill level and races were held weekly. It was too expensive for everyday play, but it was worth doing when you could make time.
by the way... I watched the lousy race at home, if they are going to hype it as the "Super Bowl" of NASCAR then they should make provisions to run all 500 laps. The endurance test on those tracks is what makes the race special.
"doritos and Pepsi" sounds like a Gordon fan to me (Fritos / Pepsi). I pull for most all drivers but extremely dislike a few.
