If Company G who is not a Letterville merchant sends a letter to everyone on their mailing list announcing that they now sell products from Company O who is a Letterville merchant, is it ok to mention them here? Or maybe, if only in reference to Company O? Or would it have been better if I hadn't posted this at all?
Don't mean to stir up trouble. Just asking. If you delete this Steve, I won't be offended.

I can't see why Steve would mind unless company O minded, & I can't see company O minding if they are getting the wholesale business & prices they established when arrangements were made to allow company G to sell their product in the first place. Also, if company G is able to sell O's product for less then O sells it direct, we would benefit from knowing that & I don't feel that O's sponsorship contributions should prevent us from sharing that info. If G's price is not lower, but more convenient location or terms for some, then again that sounds like the kind of info. we should share here.
But Steves is the answer that matters, so I guess we'll learn that in time, but felt like adding my thoughts anyway.

Well this won't go over well......but here goes. Why can't we mention good or bad things about ANY product or company. Aren't we here to learn and help? If a product is great and they are merchants....all the better.

Hi Bill...no need to worry about mentioning a non-merchant.
Here is a couple of quotes along with the link to the post dated Jan 02/03 where Doug asked about site policies.
quote:There is no need for anyone to fear mentioning a non Merchant. Nothing wrong with a free sample or two! Barb contacts anyone mentioned in your plugs, and usually sells them on the benefits of becoming a Letterville Merchant. We hope those making plugs and posting links are doing the same. If you know an outstanding supplier, we want them here in Letterville.
quote:If you are in any way employed and/or rewarded by the company you are plugging, your post could end up in the Supplier’s Soapbox. This also applies to those that are relatives, been given gifts, or paid to represent a supplier at trade shows. We’re not against your posting, just make us aware that you may be in a conflict of interest.

Thanks Barb. Incidentally, Gregory don't give me nothing but a free catalog, which is due out soon.
So, is anybody else tired of shoveling that white stuff? Ouch! Fastly running out of places to put it. Might just let the last batch melt on its own since its supposed to be above freezing the rest of the week. Supposedly the only precip we're sposed to get would be rain. Hope its not too much though. Unfortunately this weekend's snowfall could be next weekend's flood water. Hope not but look out!
