No, the title does not refer to "swinging" (Ha?), but rather some rather cool happenings for us around here.
By just odd circumstance, friendships and mutual interests, I have successfully aligned my business with others in cousin fields to basically become part of a full fledged Ad Agency.
as well as an award winning photographer that studied under ANSEL ADAMS, and a great radio/audio engineer.
As of now, when ANY of the members of our team approach a client, we have the capability of offering true MULTIMEDIA...from logo design and signage to webwork, to photography and commercial video & audio.
I am so jazzed about this!! I am writing the script right now for an interactive multimedia sales CD we are putting together offering everyone's services. It will basically be an autorun cd package that can be given to a prospect, popped into their comp, where there will be a cool flash intro opening onto a full screen page where with a click of a mouse they can see a five minute video production on each of the member services. The packaging will be such that, if I am the one approaching a client, it will be my logo on the sleeve jacket of the disk, with instructions to check out the graphic design/ signage elements of the production, while making the client aware of the services available from our associate companies.
I have really been looking for a way to "raise the bar" on what we are doing, and push myself more toward being a graphic artist before being a sign guy....and this is just the ticket. This is a completely "opt-in" enterprise for each of us, with no shared liability. Individual businesses working to a common goal.

Hiya Barry, Relationships like these can do great things for your business! It's a lot like hiring a salesman without having to pay his salary. We started forming alliances with similar clients last year. It's an investment of a lot of time, hard work and money, but you're growing their busness as well as your own. We're finally seeing the fruits of our labor. While our traditional business (trade show displays) has been steady, our alliances have brought us new work (dimensional signage, pop displays, lobby treatments, etc.) that we wouldn't have been able to get without them. We've also been debating about expanding our alliances to include independent sign shops and other trade show companies, but, I'm not sure where to begin. If you're interested in talking, send me an email & we can talk on my dime.
Havin' fun,
Checkers
