I got to stand in line today at the Post office behind a sweet little old lady who spent 20 minutes complaining about a bent corner on a post card. Apperantly it was a conspiracy against her and the guy behind the counter was responsible, and he and he alone had the power to correct the situation and remove the bend from the card! Never mind that there were 15 other people waiting inline, most with actual jobs and lives, nevermind that there was nothing the guy behind the counter could do about the bent corner. Lets just see how long we can stand here and whine and moan about our damn post card, to hell with every one else. Some people are just so inconsiderate, not to mention petty and stupid (including me for letting this **** me off like it has!)

Ok, I feel better now that I have that out of my system, so how was your day?

You missed a golden opportunity to "Go Postal" on that whacked out crazy ole whiney butt head hag.
You could have taken her and everyone else out with guns a blazen and had fifteen minutes of fame on national tv.

Never let an opportunity pass you by.

When someone does that to me, when I'm in line, I pretend I don't speak english. [Smile]
I live in a place where there is absolutly nothing to do, people get irate when they wait to long in line (it's a retirement community and the old ones over here seem to be in a hurry), I always tell them, "What is so important that your in a hurry, and you have to be a jerk, we live in a wasteland, with nothing to do!" Hemet is a place where you don't drive through, and an hour from civilization. The cows probably outnumber people, and since it's a valley, it gets real ripe, when there is no wind.
I can't wait to go home tonight!

In an other 20 or 30 years you'll be the old lady we are waiting behind in line! I know it gets frustrating but well maybe she has nothing left in life but to complain. Hope the rest of your day was better. [Smile]

I'm also in a retirement community that's slowly losing retired population and gaining younger residents.

The post office here in the winter is a mess.. always 5 or 6 lines going with 15 people in each line.. every one of them just like your little ol' lady, Joanna.

I also find it interesting that all these old people are in a big ol' hurry when they're in line, but when their turn at the counter comes are they ready for it? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! no addresses filled out.. no packaging ready to go... no forms filled out.. no money ready to go, they wait til the end to dig it all out even though the PO has very simple rate tables.. they dont even know what level of service they want to use to deliver their packages..

Everyone here (in my town) likes to complain about the wait at the post office and they blame it on the post office.. I know it's the customers' faults cause even on my heaviest shipping days once I reach the counter, we're done in 5 minutes or less (usually less).

The wait at the PO this winter has forced me to just get an account with them.. I can take care of all the postage myself, print labels and pay for it online, then drop the basket off at the PO and not waste any time waiting for old people with nothing better to do than being in a rush to do nothing. [Smile]

JoAnna......I made the mistake of going grocery shopping 'early' one morning. Did you know that's when ALL the little old ladies go shopping? They love to visit...so yes the line took forever.
I do love old people tho. But they are slow. I mean.....going 30 on the freeway???? Plus they can't see over the steering wheel. YIKES! But Bless their hearts.......

You think you got it bad. That little old lady works at my post office. She will leave her post at the counter & come out to restock the cards, brochures, and pamplets while people are lined up all the way out the door. "God bless her."

Everybody gotta be somewhere.

I had about 50 of those women check into my hotel last week. Not only were they all operating at negative speed but they were all crankier than hell. One women was yelling at me because there was steam in her bathroom after she took a hot shower. I tried to politely explain to her that I couldn't control the laws of physics but I don't think she got it.

While we're at it...it finally rains here for maybe the 3rd time in 2 years. I'm all happy because the human body really needs water to survive. Well, lo and behold, one of the outdoor outlets sets off the GFI (ground fault interrupter) switch that is also connected to my garage AND my office! Everytime I try and reset it, it just pops back out again. I call the head of engineering at the hotel and he tells me that unfortunately, I just have to wait until it dries out. Guess what? It's still raining and I'd really like to have my office and my garage bck. Amazing how dependent we are on electricity. Luckily, the washer and dryer are on their own circuit and I can use them.

For A-1 customer service techniques you need only follow Basil Fawlty in his Fawlty Towers' diatribes...He's the master!! LOL

Oh Steve! There is nothing funnier than Fawlty Towers!!! My dad and I used to sit and watch them on PBS when I was young. We'd laugh until we were crying.
