sorry Glen... i'll bet that is the job that registered perfectly on the first shirt, too.
i've been there. i mispelled my name on a project once.
when i worked at a design studio we sent everything to a professional proofreader. its amazing how nice it is to KNOW that somebody will proofread it and catch the errors.

I'm with you today! Nothing tragic and luckily nothing costly but it seems as if EVERYTHING is going wrong today. I just want to climb in bed and pull the covers up over my head and stay there for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, I have to go to work tonight.
Oh well, this too shall pass and yes, tomorrow is another day, etc. etc.

Gees Glen, I feel for you. My wife catches everything like that, usually just after I call the customer to pick up the job!

You got it. A 6 color job lines up perfectly. Everything looks perfect. Even the beading in the headdress came out beautifully. I was actually able to hold a 4% dot at 65lpi using a homemade exposure table filled with a dozen fluorescent tubes instead of a metal halide system. The whole thing was printed with 305 mess. You can barely even feel the print. I was so darn proud of myself.
Ah well. At least I get a chance to bump it to an 8 color job and see how much more detail I can pull out.

Oh Glenn! You might have discovered this around 2 or 3 pm -that's when you popped into my head and I almost called to see how you are.
If this is really so I will truly BELIEVE!!!! because we only talk on the phone every few months.
I am so sorry, what a bitch. I wish so much this had not happened.
Once, when I still had employees, one person made a massive positive for a screen printed job. Many regulations for a government park - and the lines of copy were not straight, I did not notice it in the proofing. She set up and readied the screen. I made the first pull and held it up and then I saw it.
I held it in front of her face and said: Look!
I'm so sorry, she said. I see there is a problem. But isn't it a pretty color?
It's a gorgeous shirt, Glenn. And some day tell us how many got printed.

Well that just SUCKS! we have had way too many typos and mispells lately. Had to really crack down on the proofing, doing things twice sort of takes the fun out of it. One oh my first jobs way back was about 12 trunk lids that read "medical and specialty transportaion services" in reflective red. My Sister-in-law caught it a month later looking at a picture but the customer never noticed. I went down there after hours and stripped and reapplied, a very long night that was...

I feel your pain! I once carved a 20'x 3' redwood sign, finished painting it and was standing back admiring my "excellent" artistry when my wife walked in and said, "You left a letter out of the middle." Well it was #@$%#@#$ and a few more expletives, to say the least.

I would have taken one or two. Letterhead apparel is my #1 source of clothing.
If this happens to any of you in the future, please consider using the Letterville Auction or other website tool to give us a chance to snap them up. Some mistakes are other people's treasure.

Some mistakes take a long time for anyone to notice. I was installing directory strips in a commerrcial building today when the receptionist for the property manager approached me about the fire exit route sign right next to it.
The building is about 10 years old and I suspect the sign is the same. The current property manager took over about 6 months ago. I did signwork for the previous property manager for over three years. I probably look at this fire map sign once a month and made a change to it six months ago when the new manager took over. Only today did the receptionist notice that the address given for the building is wrong! It is the address of another building on another street!
Took me about 15 minutes to get the wrong address off and the right one on.

One of the projects the Disneyland Computer Sign Shop got into was about 150 signs for Snow White's Castle. They fussed over these things for a week, redoing the design, checking the spelling and finally made the run and sent them out for installation. They were very proud, and never once had to ask any of us in the Regular Sign Shop to look at them. ________________________________________________________

Gee Mike, At Disney, of all places, you'd think that THEY would know the difference. Wasn't Sleeping Beauty the one who was awakened by a tiny prick? Snow White was the one with a Dwarf fetish.

Don't sweat it Glenn,...2 years after I did this gold job here in town the same customer calls me in to bid a window dressing with an etchmark window dressing design I did for him upon the opening of his restaurant.Did this great 2 tone gold job for him there and the restaurant was and is a great success. While I was bidding the new design he said "oh by the way Tim do ya know ya mispelled Solicitation on th no solicitation sign?"Worst part of the deal is he said no to my offer to correct the spelling,...go figure,...now I have the word solicitation spelled solictation on the door to one of the finest restaurants in town and tha guy won't let me correct it,....the one damn sign I've put my bug on in the past decade,....

Back when I was working for a screenprinting company, we once printed 10,000 decals with a little state flag in the corner. 10 people in the shop never noticed that the colors were reversed until just before delivery. It wasn't my fault, honest!
