I'm making a couple 3’ x 6’ banners using that “Banana banner material” which will hang in Portrait. I want to roll some dowels in each of the ends, just to give it some weight so it will hang nicely........so I need to seam the ends. I'd rather not stitch them......partly because I'd have to pay someone to do it & I've yet to find anyone who can run a straight stitch.
Question: …………. Has anyone out there ever created seams other than stitched seams. The “Banana banner material” uses a welded seam (assuming it is created with heat) I’ve tried using my plastic glue gun……….but it doesn’t hold.
Has anyone had any success with heat or any other method?

I use a banner tape and then add a couple of gromets for strength. Must have been a stressed sign guy that bit that poor dog.

say...... I just made a small sample banner. I laid carpet tape at the open end edge, then folded or rolled it around the dowel for a nice clean seam........looks good & work well.
Thanks for the ideas.....Glenn, Steve & Marty
