I would quote Australian A$10.00 or $500 total. Method is as follows.- Stock cost $2.50 each Mark up on stock $2.50 (100%) Print cost $5.00 Because there is a reasonable quantity (50), the artwork is straightforward, and there is a worthwile profit on the printing, I would not charge for screen setup. A$1 = US$0.56 (aprox). I would class this as a boring but financially comfortable job.

A pair of 12 x 24 one color magnetics sell for 60/pair. All your really doing is cutting a 12 x 24 into 3 pieces. You get 3 pair out of the same material, so $60 for 3 pair is $20/pair or 10 bucks ea.
Make sure you save time by cutting/weeding/applying them 6 at a time on 24 x 24 material and you'll be done 6 times as fast! I'll stand and do this profitable work all day if I could get it, and do the custom stuff as time permits.
I did 50 pair of 12 x 24's a few months back and took the 3,000 dollars in a day! Nice work if you can get it.

I would charge $40 per pair or $20 each(maybe I'd drop it to $19. to make it look better - depending on how much I needed the work). and probably get underbid by some one.

Just completed a job similar to this. What I do is take my material cost ( magnetic stock and 3 ml vinyl ) and triple it - in this case $88.40 x 3 = $265.20. Then I add on my production time which I've determined to be 3 minutes per sign multiplied by my shop rate of $1.00 per minute - $150.00, for a total of $415.20. This works out to about $8.30 per sign. Net profit of $326.80, not bad for half a days work.

Just curious, are screen printing them or vinyl cutting and applying? Seems printing would be much quicker for 50 units.

Wow that was a quick reply. I would have printed them with gloss vinyl ink.
