I got a call from a guy in New Jersey today. He is looking to replace or refurbish or re-do 19 backlit signs plus dimensional interior signage for his pizza restaurant.

I'm thinking that there are plenty of other folks in that area that could take this job. I told the guy that I would post the info here and that perhaps someone closer than me could take the job.

The backlits and menu boards may require some sort of digital printing.

His name is Larry Coppa

Pizza? Did someone say pizza? -

This real piece of pizza was handlettered by Monte Jumper at the Tulsa, OK 1984 meet in honor of Frank Atkinson's Birthday. This was Frank's piece of pizza. After it was "dry" they pinned it up on the wall with the rest of the panels.

You have to be in a special kind of mood to letter a piece of pizza!!!

I was at the meet in Tulsa and had always wondered who got the last piece of that pizza.
Thanks for solving the mystery after all these
years....

Forgive my correction Kimberly...I was at the Tulsa meet too and the honest truth is... I was the one who lettered the pizza.

I wouldn't make the claim if it weren't true...and it sure was a fun surprise to see a picture of it here at Letterville.

Thanks for the smile...someone made the remark that nite that "anything thats not nailed down would get lettered tonite" as you can see...thats exactly what happened.

I guess you could say that was my project piece...er panel maybe?

I too have a pic of it...now I guess I'll go nuts trying to find it!

Thanks again for the smile...Incidently thats One Shot on there!

MANY apologies Monte...It was a long time ago and I wasn't there...I'm just filtering through my memories of stories I'd heard. Thank you for the correction. Sorry about that!

About a year before my dad died, Ellis Doughty emailed my dad a picture of that pizza - it brought a rare smile to his face again. He chuckled to himself and got this far away look on his face like he was remembering a great time from long ago.

Any idea who ended up with that awesome huge lettering brush that's in the pictures from that meet? It's gold leafed with "84 Okie Letterheads Tulsa".

Kimberly...if you're still following this post...my wife reminded me today that shortly after I pinned that piece of pizza on the wall, some gal I forget who walked up touched it and said to her husband..."It looks so real". hahaha
