That was a cool find! Thanks david. Here's a question, I decided not to make it into it's own thread, but hopefully I'll get an answer here. I saw this Letterheads logo on that old board. I had been trying to remember a letterhead logo I had seen 7 i think this was it. It is probably very familiar to many & it's history probably very well known, but I don't know about it, so I wanted to find out. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it is still posted somewhere on this board, but I did look around here for it (before finding it on David's link to the past).
The reason I want to know more about it, is taht although my time is pretty much up on getting my panel done, I thought about incorporating some familiar "letterhead" lettering style & then adding my own originality around & within that base. Steve responded to my request with some letterville artwork, but I am leaning twords "letterheads" lettering instead of "letterville"
So, I wonder who drew this, where else it has been seen (since it is familiar but I don't recall why) & weather permission to re-use the lettering style from this would be granted by whoever has that authority.

Thanks Raymond. Been doing some more searching & checking David Butlers name in these forums came up with this thread from when the term "letterville" was first presented by Steve. I found it interesting & thought it fit well to link to in this thread.
(I emailed David directly to inquire about "borrowing" his lettering as a base for my panel.)

That was the post about the birth of Letterville. How time flies! We actually have every post and email concerning the website saved. Someday we hope to have the resouces to sort through and organize all that information.
I've been looking for the wrong logo Doug. Dave was sick in bed yesterday, but I did get to talk with Suzie. I thought you were after the Keeper Of The Craft logo. In any event, we haven't heard back from Dave yet anyway. If you don't hear back from him, please let us know.

Hi Steve. I did ask about the keeper of the craft logo, but in my mind I had remembered something like the a.m.a.l. masthead that Raymond identified for me so when I saw it I turned my focus on that. David returned my email with his permission to make use of that or the letterville logo. If you run across the keeper of the craft logo, I hav a feeling I'll be doing so more panels so let me know if it turns up. Thanks.
