I have been using Arlon vinyls for over 10 years. With a few exceptions where specific color or finish required an alternative, or where my deadline forced me to buy the locally available alternative, Arlon has filled all my needs for vinyl.
In that 10 years I have had adhesion problems only on 2 rolls. Both happen to have been burgandy.
My roll was purchased for a client that had been quickly going through dozens of yards on some refurbishing of many burgandy signs. After re-stocking 50 yards of 24" vinyl, the client seemed to have caught up with their needs & the vinyl sat on the shelf for at least 3 years.
Recently when it began peeling off a banner the day I delivered it, & a second similar banner that was done from my 15" roll of Arlon burgandy held up fine, I contacted Arlon about replacement. They asked me to send a sample & some info about when & where I bought it, & how it had failed.
When the lot number showed it to be from a 1999 batch I was told that it was out of warrenty. I let them know that in 10 years use I knew Arlon films had giving me consistent "shelf life" of over 3 years. I told them that I was not asking them about warrenty, I have been a long standing loyal customer, I know their adhesive lasts this long when it is up to their usual standards, & based on my continued loyalty, I felt that they should replace the roll regardless of their stated warrenty.
The customer service person was not too familiar with stepping outside of "claims policy" but agreed to take my request to her superiors.
I got my free replacement roll this week by overnight delivery & I just wanted to give credit to them for their backing up of the product. They did note that the inspection proved a premature failing of adhesive possibly due to conditions specific to that batch.

I have always liked Arlon. CalPlus is an excellent intermediate, soft and easy to weed. The HP is great as well. Glad they helped you out Doug.

Not sure OP but it might be the new high gloss intermediate which I didn't really like too well.

The Arlon intermediate is about 95% of the vinyl we use in our shop, it weeds great, plyable and performs just as good or better than a lot of the so called premium vinyls other manufactures make. And they "Back" their product without the hassle that Some other "BIG" Names make you go through, the reason they do this is simple, they have a GREAT PRODUCT, and if you have a great product, then you don't have too many warranty claims to deal with.
