Can you now lock Bitmaps, and design around them.

Neil, I don't think bitmaps are lockable yet, but in case you missed this info, I was going to link you to a short thread in 4edgetalk. It seemed like the specific topic was still showing the URL to the homepage, so here's the relevant part of it.

Doug's topic was :
build 1.56.0.40 dated Dec-10-02

I had upgraded to 1.56 about 6 months ago when I got a CD from Hyatt's dated May 24-02 (build 1.56.0.19)

Today I finally got the CD from Gerber promised about a year ago it seems. It is build 1.56.0.40 dated Dec-10-02 & mentions international language translations (which I'm not interested in at this point)

Is there anything special on this CD to justify messin' with it? Things are working & I hate to mess with them unless there are some significant benefits.

Along the way to localization we always managed to find other things for inclusion. Like...

Improved Decal Cut which now applies to stroke data in addition to vector and raster information

Improved File import/export
- Updated EPS import to avoid washed out colors and 'Paintbrush' objects
- AI export now has a 'Vynil Only' option similar to what GA had
- CMYK imports of CMX, AI and EPS now offer a re-calculate CMYK (Use Gerber Imaging Device Profile) option to brighten up the colors
- There is a newer DXF import with support for LWPOLYLINES in the \Misc folder that can be loaded as well
- Improved remoted file opening support on W2k systems

We also rolled in the Supplemental ArtPath disk (ArtPath '57') and the Summer '02 Materials Update

I just got off the phone with GSP and while they are sending me out one, it was not really intended for US distribution. The improvements mentioned will at some point come out, according to whom I spoke with, but it may be a later build and no date has been set for release.

Doug, you evidently should not have even received that CD.

Neil,

From what I have read you iwll be able to lockdown images in Omega 2.0, I haven't tried that Signlab e6 yet but they do support layers.
