Hi MJ,
I would try zylene first. It's a step up from mineral spirits. It might take awhile to get it all off, just use alot of elbow grease. It may dull the paint surface, so tell the client that he may have to take it to a shop to get it buffed out.

Don't know exactly how well Rapid Remover will work, but I do know it will work better then zylene.
Rapid Remover has a very pricey component (1of5) called De-limonene, this stuff cuts !!
Don't leave it on the paint more then a few min.,(it works in 60 seconds)on most acrylics,so that shouldn't be a problem.
The other thing zylene does, leaves a oily residue,Rapid Remover won't.

Actually the gold is the easiest part of the numbers to remove. Some masking or duct tape pressed down really hard and then quickly yanked up will remove the gold and the clear on top of it. Use this method ONLY on a factory finish. You are now left with the outline/shadow. Easy Off, rubbing compound or pumice will get rid rid of this with a little elbow grease. Now you find out if the sign guy cleared the gold before or after he outlined. If he did it after the truck door will be clean, if it was before, there will be a thin outline of clear left on the door. A little more rubbing...... maybe a LOT more rubbing depending on what type of clear was used Since there is always the chance of rubbing through in spots, plan on the replacement number to be just a little larger.
As far as pricing, I charge em by the hour. This one could go from 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 hour.
