Well, I got my home computer back from my guru after he installed a new larger hard-drive.
When I open Microsoft Internet Explorer, a file download window popped up wanting to download an EXE file onto my computer.
I closed the download window and MIE. When I opened MIE again, the same download window popped up. After spending an hour with Microsoft tech support and tracking the problem down, this is what we found out. Some company at IGetNet has put a parasite onto popups and such. Programs like Ad-Aware and the various virus software programs do not catch it yet.

I have learned the hard way NOT to leave the computer on with DSL active while I'm away from it. Anymore its like leaving your car in a bad part of town with the doors open and the engine running.

LOP.com is another very bad parasite . once in yer machine, u are in for a real treat to remove it..
It will install itself by merely passing yer mouse pointer over a banner in a website... The one u mention sounds like a LOP.com clone
