I bought a cutter a few months ago, and they do not make a media basket to go with it. So I'm going to make my own. I have an idea on how I'm going to do it, but has anyone made their own before and have advice? And is there a certain type of cloth material that I need to use?

I made a stand for my cutter out of old bed frames (Metal angle iron). Narrow at the top where the cutter is then wider at the bottom with the wheels. I put a sheet of cardboard on the front to cover the frame and then took a sheet of foamcore and set it in front (on the frame where the wheels are). I also tied a about a foot of cord onto the top of the foamcore and the top of the stand. When I have small pieces to cut I keep the foamcore laying against the stand. When I have long cuts I just pull it away from the stand and it makes a "V" and collects the vinyl. Cheap and it works for me. If you want a picture let me know and I'll send one your way.

I simply dust in behind and in front of the plotter and basically let everything drop to the floor! We have (3) Shelties and I do get dog hair on the vinyl, but it wipes right off before I weed.

i used some scrap coroplast - its easy to fold and seems to have less friction than corrugated cardboard. stay away from fabric -- its a dust magnet. you can wipe the coroplast down if it gets dirty.
