Just got in from Joey Hutsons "Swampland Panel Jam"...had a really great time ...saw some awsome panels and had some really good times viditing with old friends ...made a few new friends.
I'll post some pics here in a day or two.
Had to drive thru a driving snow storm half way home but we're all home safe and sound.
Took my oldest son to his first "panel jam" (he's still talkin about it).

I too have just gotten into the office from a wild and fun weekend from Joey's. Boy...you talk about a group of talent in one place!...it is not only very humbling but inspiring! It is so hard to explain the synergy that one walks away with!...Sometimes it just gets overwhelming!
Thank you Mr. Hutson...you are a true Letterhead in every sense of the term!

Fantastic weekend. Joey's meet is a real getaway from it all. Everyone responses so well to the surrounds. Thanks to all the who gave the workshops and offered helpful advice all weekend.
My personal thanks for: Monty's help with casual lettering and feather technique. Rhonda Price's workshop on chrome letters. Gary Jenssen's scrolling demo and tuning of numerous brushes. All other demonstrators both organized and informal. Our host and hostess, Joey and Kay Hutson for encouragement and sustainance(good food). Mike Lavalle for constant goodwill. And Yahoo for driving directions that worked.

Yes it was a great weekend! Those Pinheads are great people. I had a blast! Litterally. I was taught glass blasting by Bob Pickard. He is a great and patient teacher as well as a true gentleman. Thank you Bob.
Fred Self taught gold leafing. I hope I can remember everything he taught. I have written down everything since I got home. (Age related thing)
Joey and Kay put lots of work into this meet and we reaped the benefits.
I was amazed at the strides my friend Vickie made this weekend. It has everything to do with her desire to learn, and the willingness heads have to share and support newcomers.
By the way guys, I did get to keep the LazerLines box my sis won. Thanks Robert and Joanna!

Yes folks, it was a blast! I'm back home tired, but inspired. One of the best meets I've been to. Great hospitality (and food!) from Joey Hutson and family and great times with old and new friends.
Special thanks to Mike Lavallee for all of his demos, crazy humor and his generosity. He gave an awesome gift to Greg "Lil'Toot" Tuter that nearly brought tears to our eyes... Rhonda's help on my gold project...The Padilla's for their famous Salsa and keeping me in stitches the whole trip...Gary Jenson for the super panel...and Frank Manning from 1Shot for his support.
It was nice meeting some new people here for the first time..Kathy Joiner, Donny Pavolini, Santo, and George Perkins, among others.
True Letterhead, Pinhead and Airhead(???!) spirit at work once again!

Carl, Freebird, has been kind enough to provide a link to his Swampland Panel Jam on the AutoArt Bulletin Board. There are 3 pages of nice pictures. The first features Spyke's fridge and pictorial tribute to "Lil Toot."
Well, it was another A+ for Joey Hutson and Co. for this the 3rd annual Swampland panel Jam!
As usual there was just the right amount of people attending this years meet to not make it too crowded I say around 60. from what little chance I got to get from behind the airbrush I'd say there was some pretty cool stuff produced at this years meet once again. Don king from Kelso, WA as well as Gary Jenson from Salt Lake put out some fine panels. Rhonda put the finishing touches on her awesome dimentional piece of Joey's shop logo as well as doing some of her state of the art chrome lettering for a group demo, Ron Meyers and Little Toot where busy like beavers painting flying eyeballs and flames in the Oklahoma wing while The Padilla boys where spankin' em on the south western mini panels. there was gold leaf flying, brushes swingin' and airbrushes hissing throughout the busy weekend! I was even painting the day after the meet! well I'll add more later. A HUGE thank you goes out to Joey and Kay for all the did to make this meet happen yet again this year! well, Kathy didn't win the fridge but she did get herself a pretty nice custom painted tool box! more later! Mike

Pat, we really missed you at the meet. "Dey all axed for you!" This was the first meet I have attended without you and all your BULL. The place was a little quiet this year.
Hope you have better luck with the construction than Monte & Pat. Keep us posted.
