This is not directly sign related, but you all seem to know everything else, so here goes.
I have web space that I bought, and two domain names. How do set it up so "domain1.com" & "domain2.com" use the same DNS but go to two different sites? I think it's called a sub-domain. Man I hope I'm making sense here.
Anyhoo, if you know what I'm rambling about and don't have anything better to do, type me up an answer or maybe a link.
Thanks a Million!

A little more detail.... are they both already pointed to the same site, and you want one to go to what would appear to be a different site, but really just a subdirectory with different files??? or something like that???

Yes you are on the right track, I think. Let me try a better explanation. I have 10gigs of space to basically do as I wish. My main site is already published there, but I come nowhere near using that much space. What I would like to do is put up another site completely separate from the first using my second domain name.
I hope that makes more sense

It can be done, and it's not that complicated (I have about six domains going to one host site, and so many subdomains in use that I can't even remember them!)
But.....(yeah there is one!) What to do, and whether it will cost extra is up to the Hosting co, some will not allow certain features.
Basicly (assuming it is running Apache server software, under Linux/FreeBSD/etc) you can create as many subdomains as you like, site1.domain1.com site2.domain1.com as you like, with a few lines of code iine a file named ".htaccess" . You can even get multiple levels, such as this.is.my.site.domain1.com Can really be usefull - assign a subdomain to what would otherwise be a long URL ex. pictures.domain1.com instead of domain1.com/files/1977/march/job2/whoever/
Unfortunately some hosts prohibit this
The other step is to point the second domain to that subdirectory. Again, this varies with hosts.
The good news, even if your host tells you none of this works, or wants mucho $$$ to do it for you, there is an alternative.
The domains DNS can be handled by a different company (ZoneEdit.com is FREE up to 5 domains) that can provide the necessary features for you.
First question is = who is your web host & what package did you get?
If you want to contact me off this board, you can, & I can walk you thru it.

You should just be able to setup another folder within your web space, then contact the registrar that your second domain name is registered through and have them point the second domain to that folder.
Example: my site is stickerpimp.com
if I wanted to setup coops-stuff.com I could host it in my space and tell the registrar to point coops-stuff.com to www.stickerpimp.com/coopsstuff
When someone goes to coops-stuff.com all they see is coops-stuff.com, not anything related to stickerpimp. Several people here even have their own domain names pointing at a freebie website on geocities, tripod or even angelfire.
The host doesnt matter in this case at all.
