Some have asked questions regarding this Month's Letterville Resident Drive. The other post is really getting long, so I've decided to answer your questions here.
The #1 question is "How Many New Residents Do We Have In Letterville?"
There is still almost 30 hours left in this promotion, but as of now we have 68 new Residents! Welcome to town.
Another question we often get asked is "How Many Residents Are There?"
There are now 255 Residents.
Here's some other other Letterville stats. Since the Autumn of 1995, 7863 individuals or shops have registered here in the Letterville database. Of that 7863, 3297 made the next step and registered to post on The BullBoard. Now out of that number, 2262 went on to make one or more posts.
These statistics indicate that somewhere around 15% of those involved here at the BullBoard are Residents. Is that good or bad is usually the next question? Short answer is both!
Letterville is a unique experiment. While it's true that most of us make signs for a living, our number one interest is small sign companies and the people that work in them. As Letterheads, we also have a view on the "sign business" that is different from the majority. After almost 30 years, it's just dawned on me that most sign shops today are just a way to make money. Us Letterheads are the fanatical minority. The money is certainly important, but to us Letterheads, our work is everything.
I like being different. We're proud that Letterville is different too. Residents are a big reason Letterville continues to be different for 2 important reasons. Let me explain.
1. Their financial support means we can maintain our independance. Because of Residents, we don't have to depend upon advertising for our survival. That's why you'll never see any part of Letterville sponsored by anyone but the Residents. There's never no conflict of interest that way.
2. You do not have to be a Resident to participate in Letterville. We're like Public TV. Support us with a $50 annual fee and we'll give you some perks. It's that simple. No pressure. The sharing and knowledge should always be free.
For the past several years, almost 200 Residents have chosen to support Letterville. It's just not human nature to pay for something you can get for free. I like to think this is a vote of confidence in Letterville. Thank You!
These stats also indicate we have some work to do. We're off to a good start, but we have to do more to sell Visitors on moving to Letterville. We're listening.
Almost forgot the sales pitch!
There's still 28 hours left to become a Letterville Resident! Join before the year ends, and we'll send you a Tramp CD valued at $99, just to say thanks. BTW..Kudos to the folks at GBC SignWarehouse for making this offer possible.
That's not all! As a Letterville Resident, you'll get additional benefits. These include...
Monthly Draws....At the end of every month, we draw for some great "door prizes" supplied by Letterville Merchants. Residents are eligable for all 12 monthly draws.
The Letterville Vault...Residents are given the key to The Letterville Vault. Inside, you'll find exclusive Fontry fonts, plus various clipart and pin striping designs. Over the next few months, we'll be adding another 250 clipart samples from the most popular CD clipart collections GBC SignWarehouse carries.
Your Photo On The BB....We believe that those of you, who choose to help us pay the bills, deserve some special recognition. Become a Letterville Resident, and we'll add your photo to all your BB posts.
The value of this package far exceeds your annual $50 US Resident's Tax. It's also tax deductable! How can you go wrong? Here's what you need to do next.
Pick-up your phone and give Barb a call at 519-787-2673. You can pay your Letterville Tax with Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Those that prefer paying by cheque are invited to visit our Resident's Page at http://www.letterhead.com/residents/index.html
You'll find additional information there, along with a form you can print out, and either fax or mail to us. You'll want to bookmark this page in order to access the Letterville Vault once we have you settled in Letterville.
Please note that this special offer is only valid to Dec. 31, 2002.

Félicitations pour votre bon français. Nous pourrions peut-être faire une section francophone
An other reason to pay our resident taxes is to ensure the perenity of Letterville. We don't want that Letterville become a dead town because of lack of ressources.

Steve and Barb have a LIFE too! Let's NOT forget they are have human trials and tribulations along with the rest of us. The Experiment is working just fine thanks to these two. (I might even include them in my prayers)
Hope this helps
