About an hour ago, I get a call from my husband who says..."I was just talking to your father and he said it was okay with him if I borrowed his chisels". Now for those of you who are unaware he's been gone for over a year so this was weird enough in and of itself.
I laughed and told him that yes, of course he could borrow my father's stone-carving chisels. Turns out my husband decided to do a large ice carving for their big New Years Eve party tomorrow night.
So, I went out to find the chisels in the garage and since I couldn't find the mallet that should be with them, I dug out my great-great grandfather's tools and I found the perfect mallet for him to use.
These tools were the only things that he took with him when he moved from England to New Zealand sometime in the 1800's.
Anyway, the point of my story is that it just demonstrates how life continues on and on. I can't wait to see the ice carving.

I'll see what I can do! I'm headed to the hotel right now (gotta go to work) and I'll take the digital camera with me and try to get some pics. I won't be there for the party tomorrow night - gotta stay home with my kid. :-)
