Hello, So first off, this is my first posting to this website, so I guess I am going to have to go through the hazing faze first! I am pretty new to the business allround! Any suggestions to a budding Graphics guy that has an interst in the sign business Secondly I am looking for some clip art. Since I am not sure how to post the image I will descibe what I am looking for, and then get some help with the posting the image. The image must me of a repair man preferably not holding anything in his hands, standing straight up, looking right at you. The image should look "real life" like. As far from a cartoon as possible. If anyone as any idea where I can find this image, in vector format (Illustrator preferb.), that would be greatly apprieciated. Other than that, hope to be a part in this little community!

Jeff, welcome to the board. Sorry to see the topic of your first post. You wouldn't know cause it's your first time here, but that's the biggest taboo on this site. Nuff said....hope to see ya stick around. Letterville is a great place with a wealth of information to be had.

Welcome aboard! There are quite a few places to find clipart, and I hope some others will post their favorite locations for you. You may have to find the image you like and scan and vectorize it yourself. Try doing an image search on google.com. Arttoday.com has tons of clipart; you can buy individual clipart from roland.com. Old Paint will recommend a program called print artist that has lots of clipart in vector format, and so does corel.
Good luck with your search

Jeff's post was going to lay there and mold...and I didn't want him to think nobody noticed his post or that we were ignoring "the new guy". I hope I was diplomatic, because that was my intention.
Jeff, I have a step by step of basic vector drawing skills that is linked from the letterhead.com main page...."step by steps". Even if this were a clip art trading site, you aren't likely to find anything that specific wrapped up with a bow anywhere.
I believe there is also an offer here now which closes tomorrow 31st Dec to get Tramps CD of clipart which normally retails for $99 for free if you sign up as a resident here in Letterville for $50...sounds good to me if your in the market for that type of thing...that's your choice!
If you want to post an image and have uploaded it to you site, then click on image down below UBB code and just enter the URL
Once again welcome here

Jeff, Henry Barker graciously included our site in his list of available clip art vendors, but he accidentally got the address wrong (you will get the 404 error if you click on that link).

Thanks to all the help. I will look into all of these suggestions! In the end I will probably just have to sit down and draw out the guy in Illustrator. I have experience in that program, one of my favorites (right there with photoshop!), I just was hoping for an easy way out! In the end it will probably take me just as long to look through all of these site as to sit down and to it. Thanks again for the post and help! Now when I sign up there was mention of pie and a party... mmm...

good luck Jeff, I don't know about pie & party, but a few more hours to get in on the FREE tramp warner CD (Along with the other $50 worth of perks that full residency brings)
It may be too late to get todays postmark (didn't check where in the world you are, still early enought for post office way out here, but nowhere else in the country I suspect, but there's always a credit card payment directly to Barb via phone. Don't know if she's out drinkin' yet (lol) but she's usually answered the phone when I've called, so GO FOR IT! Residency has it's privileges!
