I buy the same hardware over and over again, and I always feel like I'm getting shafted for it from the building supply. It's getting to the point where I spend $30-$40 bucks for a small bag of fasteners. Has anyone dealt with an on-line wholesaler who has good prices on stainless and galvanized screws, lags & carriage bolts, among other things? Also, does your source have a minimum to get a wholesale rate. I don't mind laying out a couple hundred at a time, but if it takes a couple thousand at a whack to play with the big boys then maybe I'll have to grow some more.

Went to buy 3" screws at a wholesaler one time. Asked how much they were, he said 4000 were about $35. I asked how much 2000 were, he said $55. I asked why, he said they come 4000 to a box. If you want 2000 they have to hand count them. We bought 4000.

I really lucked out here with the local Scotty's Hardware closing two stores in my area. In their last days, most stuff dropped to 50-75% off. I bought all the stainless steel screws, eye-hooks, nuts n bolts that my budget would allow. In all, I bought $400.00 worth of fasteners that would probably be worth over $1500.00, Prior to that, I would buy only what I needed from Home Depot at their exorbient prices. So, look for store closings or store-wide sales in your area.

There are 8.35 zillion fastener companies in the U.S. (I counted them)
I went to Google and typed in "fasteners massachusetts" and got a mixed bag of links. Searching for just "fasteners" gets a nice list but from all over the country. Freight will likely play a major part in the bottom line pricing.
I would make up a wish list and start calling a few places for a quote. We buy bulk stainless fasteners where I work and it's amazing how much the price varies.
Nettie seems to use a lot of tapcons in her installs. I did a Google search for "tapcons" and found www.stainless-fasteners.com. They have bulk stainless tapcons and the traditional blue ones too.
Good luck!
