I know that Christmas is about giving and not receiving but did you get(or give)anything really cool this year? Something you've really wanted? Something unique?
My husband's family all pitched in and bought us a commemorative plaque with our names on it which will be part of the new park (McCovey Point)at Pac Bell Park where the San Francisco Giants play. We're huge Giants fans and even though we live far away, still have our season tickets. The plaque also came with an autographed Willie McCovey baseball. Pretty cool, huh?
My husband also gave me a globe which is something I've wanted since I was young.

There is an independant super market in town that is competing successfully with Safeway. They have fresher and better everything and an awesome organic section, local stuff section, imported stuff for most any international cooking, and a great staff. Well, they bought a new red PT Cruiser and had it flamed. They gave out entry forms, one a day per person, no purchase needed, and did weekly drawings and just did the pull a name out from amoung the weekly winners to give away the santa red PT C last night. My son's lacrosse coach and his new bride won it. Wouldn't you like to get that Christmas gift?

There are two people that I help alot during the year...family members who needed a lot of small favors, rides to the doctor, store, etc. Well both of them told me thank you by way of a small paragraph handwritten on a Christmas card, completely independant of each other, and that meant more to me than anything I've gotten in many Christmas's !
And also I want to say thank you to you folks whilst the roses are being passed around. I really appreciate the hospitality and good posts that abound here in Letterville. An awful lot of you folks seem to carry the Christmas spirit around with you all year, from what I can see.
Merry Christmas!!

What I got that I liked the most was being able to finally, after 14 years of marriage, give my wife something she REALLY liked!!!! She has been hinting around that she wanted a "Flag Box" for her Fathers flag. The ones I have seen seem so cheap looking, I am sure there are nicer ones though.
I decided to "Build" her one, a custom one!!! I used oak for the wood and on the glass I used the "Etching Creame" I got at Don's meet to put his name & dates on it.
The main "box" is elevated on 3 2" dowells, sorta piers. On the base which is wider and deeper than the rest is "U.S. Army - Korean War" and some scroll work all in gold leaf with a dark blue outline. I added a few white dots as highlights and unfortunatly when I clear coated the last time they smeared on one side just a little. I was rushed for time to get it done.
It could have been done better, but right now, It was my best. She loved it and even cried, a good cry.
I hope to post some pic's but my camara is down right now but the piece is not going any where.
Oh, and I got a Home Design program for the computer I had been wanting. It is just a hobby for fun. When I was in college we drew all plans by hand, I like trying it on the computer too though.

I got the opportunity to treat my mom and her parents and my wife's parents to a Christmas dinner at home last night -- BBQ'd shrimp in a beer marinade.
Just having us all together was the best present for me.

Got a family/biz present(my wife & 2 sons work in our biz) a new FUJI digital camera. Major COOL! We've wanted and needed one for a long time...thanks to the Letterheads for all the good advice in helping Santa figure out what features we needed. Now we gotta figure out how to use all those high-tech features.

Monte - no, it's not a man. In fact, the young lady is 22, blonde, and if I were 35 years younger I would still drool.
It just so happens that I have also known here since she was a baby.
I told Jeanne that a gift certificate to just look at her for an hour would have been a great gift. I think she is going with me to the massage session!

I'm kinda surprised to find others getting a massage for a gift. My mother in law has been treating me to one every year for a long time. It sure is a wonderful manner of pampering!

Lotsa family and friends mainly! My cousin Eva is here from Budapest, Hungary, and my Brother Coloman with his gal Luciana came from Canada.
Many friends braved the storm Tuesday night to come out and visit at our party.
Out of the gifts Dave gave me, two were work related. A 100 ft long heavy duty extension cord (much needed as my other one was shot) and a fully equipped dremel tool. Very cool!
This week has been like a whirlwind, and I'm still spinning! Looking forward to winding down on the weekend.
