This is the first time in 30 or 35 years I haven't started and finished my shopping on Christmas eve.
I actually spred it out over 4 days this year...one day of recon (no purchases allowed). Then one day of comparison (purchases allowed but none made) and two days of actual aquisition...culminating in completion of the main objective one day ahead of schedule.
I blame it all on the "nit wit" that placed Christmas in the middle of the week on Wednesday...(if one leap year had been skipped it would have been on Tuesday...or would it have been Thursday?) No matter...Now I have nothing to do today except drink egg nog eat cookies and play on the computer.
But tomorrow...LET HER RIP!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AGAIN..

Monte, I'm starting to think you really like this Christmas stuff!
I only had to get one thing from Home Depot today and I'm finished except for one sign I made as a gift (well it's finished but I don't know if the clear is going to dry in time for tonights gift exchange!).
The most exciting part is my daughter. She's 3 1/2 now and totally into this Christmas. Makes it a lot more interesting around here.
Enjoy!

I didn't see you mention "Wrapping" Did you get the stores to do that, or fit it into your 2 "aqusition" days, or is that still remain to cramp your egg nog drinking style? I started shopping last night at about 7. finished about 10, but I still gotta wrap. (I'll admit my task was easier because I know my wife just about had it covered for both of us spread over the last 11 months.)

It must be the year to get ready early!! Although it isn't my style at all, we were shopped, wrapped and under the tree last week already... and so it is time to relax.
How am I gonna stand relaxing for four whole days???

You think she's into it now? Wait until she's 5! My daughter is going nuts waiting for tonight. Thank god, her grandmother sent her a box full of presents for the "12 days of Christmas" so she's had one to open every day for the past 12 days. It's keeping me sane. :-)
I just realized that I still have to bake cookies to leave for Santa tonight. A mother's work never ends!
